“Izakaya was the best food experience I've ever had and probably one of the top 10 experiences I've had in general. The kitchen staff was engaged and helpful (Paul, Maddi, and Trevor were amazing, but also shout out to the rest of the kitchen), and the food was out of this world.

Paul obviously cares deeply about his craft and made sure we knew what we were eating and where on the fish it came from, and it was really cool to watch him work right in front of us (especially given the fact that the sushi was out-of-this-world). Trevor was super fun and kept everyone engaged through the whole night while also making sure we were supplied on anything we needed - not to mention he is an impressive force in the kitchen and everything they brought out was great. Maddi was also incredible and made the best mocktails I've ever had (and it's not even close) - each of them was innovative and delicious.

The food itself was amazing and there wasn't a single course that I disliked. It's near impossible to pick a favorite because they all felt like stand-outs. I am traveling for the summer so I booked a solo reservation and they treated me like family and made sure that I was never bored or left out. Montana is a beautiful place with lots to do and still Izakaya's omakase experience is near the top of my list. If you are on the fence about this experience: make the reservation, it's worth it!“

“Having been to almost a dozen different Japanese steakhouses I have to say, this one really cares about all points of your experience. From greeting to serving to the show from the chefs to the portion sizes and prices, everything here is delicious fun and fair. The manager is clearly happy to be there and enjoys making sure people leave happy. Every question is answered and any potential concerns squashed before they can blossom. Their recipes are from scratch and sure, Ive had better sauces but theirs is good and minor recipe preference won't deter me from coming back here whenever the craving hits. 10/10“

“Delicious food and great service. I got the wagyu burger and asked for sweet potato fries. The fries were absolutely delicious. The burger came with a special wasabi sauce that was excellent.
