The place itself was not very remarkable and the food was just ok. We ordered our steaks medium rare, but they came out slightly overcooked. The flavor was decent, but the doneness really took away from the overall experience. On top of that, the service was extremely slow. Overall, it did not meet our expectations and it definitely did not align with the price of the meal.

I admit, I wasn’t expecting to like this place. We took some clients there recently, and not being from Montana I was expecting a touristy gimmicky joint. I asked a friend of mine who was local for a recommendation from the menu and he told me to try the bison ribeye. I protested heavily, thinking if I’m gonna have a ribeye I might as well have my favorite kind, a beef one. He assured me I have not tried THIS bison ribeye. I’ve had plenty of buffalo items before, mostly for the novelty because I just can’t put them above beef in taste. Often it’s gamey or too lean. This bison ribeye however was incredible. Rating it objectively amongst all my favorite steaks, ignoring what type of animal it came from, it’s in the top three for me. I don’t know how they did it, but it was glorious. The drink menu was great as well, large selection of cocktails, however, their beer menu was lacking.

We have been loyal Ted’s patrons for years and always extremely happy with the experience. Unfortunately, there seems to be major changes in the last month or so. Two weeks ago my wife and I were disappointed in the very mediocre quality of the bison, brisket, and my New York strip. We returned with a larger group on Thanksgiving weekend and had even worse experience. The wait staff was friendly and eager, however, was very inexperienced. The food quality ranged from acceptable to inedible. My bison tenderloin was absolutely the worst steak I’ve ever been served. It was thin very, overcooked, dry and stringy. Two other steaks were also near inedible and sent back uneaten. I certainly hope that the management can turn this around in a short period of time. We would hate to lose this Bozeman landmark.

The bison steak and salmon was terrific. The broccoli was served cool to room temperature, no seasoning and served in huge stalks that was off putting.

Just arrived at Ted’s Bozeman and 3 times the waitress walked within 5 feet of me and walked away without so much as acknowledging me! Just relocated back to Montana, and couldn’t wait to go in to have my favorite meal, and now this!
I would hope that someone in management would recognize that they need to train the staff to at least acknowledge a person When they’re standing 5 feet away from them… I won’t be back

Ted’s used to be one of our favorite places, and the last 5 times we’ve been consistently disappointed. Whether sitting at the bar or a table, it takes forever for food to come out, often cold. Tonight we only ordered chili and a salad, did not see our server one time after we ordered, waters empty, took 20mins after finished eating to flag someone down to get our server to give our check, and there were only a couple other tables full in the whole restaurant.

We we're celebrating a significant birthday and just walked in and got a table. Our hostess was excellent, friendly, funny, attentive and very efficient. We didn't catch her name but we were the two English couples, she'll know. The food was also excellent. All in all, top notch.

Cute pub style restaurant. Service was good overall. Food was hit or miss. Crab cake was an old rubbery pile of mush. Bison burgers were bland. Chicken sandwich was very good. Not a place I would go back to due to food quality and prices, but they definitely have an opportunity to make this a very nice restaurant with a little better quality control.

Some of Ted's burgers are very good, like the Avalon burger, this time we had their new smash burger, and their fish sandwich. The burger was boring, and really didn't have the taste of a smash burger. The fish sandwich would have been good, but had barely any sauce, so it was extremely dry, and tasteless! I ordered broccoli with the fish sandwich, they gave me huge pieces that needed to be cut up. They were not busy, and I would have liked the waiter to stop by so I could get more sauce for my fish sandwich. Not a good experience, and not woth the drive through crazy traffic, and trying to find a parking spot. I expect better when eating out!

Well, this event was just shared with me, by the person involved, and I'm so horrified I think it needs to be shared everywhere. My friend was at Ted's last week for lunch with her adult grandchildren. My friend requires the use of an oxygen machine for a medical condition. Now, this is not some big canister that rolls along behind her, but a small apparatus the size of a medium size purse that looks like a shoulder bag, and is basically silent. They had ordered their food and were having a lovely time, when a restaurant employee (manager?) came to the table and told them they had to leave because the 'machine' was ruining the meal for the people sitting in the booth behind them. Allow me to say, that my friend has had this machine at all kinds of lunch meetings, business meetings, even at meditation and NEVER has anyone complained or commented about the sound of this machine. There were, of course, many other possible solutions: move the people who complained, move my friend's party to a different table, explain to the complainers that people with disabilities fortunately have rights and they, the complainers, could leave, or a veritable myriad other options other than kicking my friend and her granddaughters out. Let's be very clear here, Ted's, you violated the ADA, Americans with Disabilities Act, which opens you up to all kinds of violations and fines. And your actions are spreading like wildfire. Shame on you - if this was a manager, you need retraining, and if this was wait staff, you need a new manager who pays attention.

I’ve eaten at Ted’s – this location and in Atlanta – a few times, but this visit was disappointing.

Right from the start, the youngish staff seemed under-practiced. As groups of various sizes gathered near the host station, three staffers stared at the seating chart on the computer for a few interminable minutes and barely glanced away to acknowledge the growing crowd. It takes 3 people to accomplish nothing?

One eventually began to argue with the larger group about the legality of 7 people taking a booth. Finally, another staffer seated a few people. Even though they did not have a reservation, the couple ahead of us got a nice booth, while we waited 10 minutes past our reservation time. My friend and I were relegated to the outside courtyard, which we did not request and did not desire.

The outside dining proved insufferable. For the first hour, we relentlessly batted away flies from our drinks and faces. When the meal arrived, the flies intensified. We survived for 10 minutes of flies landing on my $50 steak and then we gave up. It took another 10 minutes to find any kind of table inside.

The steak and burger were good, but the sides were lukewarm, like they had been sitting in the kitchen under the heat lamp for 15 minutes, waiting for the entrée to join them on the plate.

Our young, tentative server was polite enough, but she seemed completely overwhelmed. She checked on us only twice in two hours. My soda was never refilled. After the burger and fries arrived it took no less than 10 minutes and three requests from two different people to get ketchup on the table.

The entire visit took two hours, even though we had no desire to linger that long – the service was just that slow.

Hoping our next visit goes more smoothly.
