Came for lunch after hiking in some cold and rainy weather. Had wild mushroom cavatappi, elk brats, and hot cocoa. All were tasty and service was good. Prices typical for a hotel, but not outrageous. Nice if you can get a table by the window overlooking the lake and mountains.

Obviously, super overpriced. Small portions. Very long wait. Would make sure I have enough food to avoid dining here next time.

Food is meh but our server Amy was amazing! She found us when we left our credit card at the table. We had veggie burgers which were good but nothing exceptional.

The food was actually pretty good once we were able to eat here. However the experience of getting a table for dinner was dreadful. People have to start lining up at 4:30 and wait around in the lounge for hours to hopefully have dinner at a reasonable time. We heard of multiple groups who just went to bed without having dinner because it was going to be so late. That might be more a fault of there being no other options than it is Ptarmigans but it was a bad experience. Our service was also incredibly slow the two times we ate here. We definitely preferred leaving the park for dinner when we could.

I would rather drive 45 minutes outside the park than eat here again.Miserably bland pasta that had none of the vegetables the menu claimed it would. Came out cold to the touch. Actually, everything came out cold and bland! The already small menu was made more limited by items being unavailable. There was a substitution available but it was much more $$ than what was missing. For the quality of food I would expect to pay half what we did.Xanterra is a plague on our National Parks.

The chef must have taken a break while cooking our food. My husband’s hamburger was over cooked, and my elk brat was downright nuked. If we had not been on the Red Bus tour with limited time for lunch, I would have insisted on a new cooked brat. Unfortunately when you are there, you are “captive audience “ and they pretty much can give you what they want, without you having much recourse otherwise. Two thumbs down!

They know they are the only option within a half hour, and they act like it. I ate there twice. Seems like either line up at opening or be prepared to wait at least 90 minutes. Seems like they are trying to be fancy but their definition of fancy is geared towards 70 year olds on group tours. The kids waiting tables did thier best. They seem nice and like they are trying. Their large salads are comical. Enough arugula to feed 4 people but only 1/3 of a chicken breast. On the positive side, I actually liked my Manhattan!! Hard to recommend you not to go here given there aren't really any other options. Just know before you go

We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the dining room. Fine dining with a beautiful view! Considering where you are had to give 5 stars. Service was quick being a buffet. No line to get seated, easy to get a window seat due to large room and lots of windows. Food was excellent yogurt&oatmeal had very healthy fixings to add. Scrambled eggs, potatoes, CRISPY bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, French toast, muffins , pastry, toast. Lots of fresh fruits and berries. $21pp. Fair price point. Staff friendly and provide great service. Plenty of seating. Food was covered and didn’t want to open all the chaffing servers for pics.Vegetarian options: They are available on all the restaurants here.

We got the house salad, lentil burger, and pasta dish they had. Very happy with all the vegan options they had. The food was surprisingly good and would definitely come back here. Got a huckleberry Marg from here as well which didn’t quite taste like a margarita because there was no tequila but was still

We ate breakfast and dinner here several times. Rating given is a combination of our visits since we are unable to review separate visits or meal types. Food quality and service levels variable, breakfast would be a 3 (awful biscuits and gravy, terrible service) and dinner a 5 (excellent food and service). An elegant setting in the large historic dining room. Many tables, able to get a seat within 10 minutes for each breakfast and within 30-45 minutes at dinner time. No reservations, so you have to wait for tables to clear. DINNER - Cocktails were very nice. The Huckleberry Margarita bows to the local fruit and is a good balance of the berry syrup with the fresh lime (we added a bit more lime to reduce the sweetness and this made the drink much better). A dry martini made with Tanqueray gin was perfect. Mushroom Soup was a creamy soup with lots of sautéed white mushrooms, portabellas, and porcinis and a noticeable dollop of sherry that added a slight sweetness and brought out the earthy flavor. The house side salad was an ample mix of romaine and spring mix, cucumbers, tomatoes and croutons in a balsamic vinaigrette. The steak offerings were a flat iron steak and a Waygu sirloin. Requested medium rare on the flat iron and very rare on the Waygu, both came to the table absolutely perfectly done, extremely tender. Accompanied by garlic mashed potatoes, roasted asparagus spears and rich au jus. All very flavorful! Another offering the Braised Bison Short Ribs were meaty and tender, the gravy tasty but average. The same vegetable sides made it a Sunday dinner meal. BREAKFAST - Grand Buffet Breakfast was well stocked. A wide array of breads for toasting, Danish and cinnamon rolls, fresh and dried fruit, cereals, oatmeal, jellies, yogurts. The hot bar had scrambled eggs (plain or with cheese), breakfast potatoes (plain or with onions and peppers), crisp bacon, sausage links, biscuits and gravy and french toast. The fresh fruits were the highlight, the biscuits and gravy the low point—the biscuits were canned biscuits, the gravy pasty and cold. Note that there is only one toaster for the entire restaurant and often a wait to use it. SERVICE at both dinner and breakfast varied with each server with only one server rating a 5/5 (thanks Jesse!). One server was so distracted due to previous night’s activities, he forgot many things and also tried to pour water in our coffee cup. Another server walked away from the table multiple times while we were in the midst of ordering and went to another table. We were ready to ask for another server when she finally decided she would pay attention to us (and even then, we had to flag her down several times during breakfast for coffee refills and our bill). There did not seem to be a manager monitoring service at any meal.

Outstanding restaurant with incredible views of the lake and mountains. The food and service was exceptional, and our decision to try all of the desserts was the well worth it. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will note that it was one of the highlights of our trip to Glacier.

Limited dining options at MG. Put name in early. For party of 2 of on the first night arrived at 6:00, we were not seated until 7:30, ordered food immediately but it did not arrive until 8:25. 2nd night arrived at 5:30, seated at 6:15 but food still took 55 minutes for food. We had the flat iron steak and salmon which were good. Huckle Berry crumble also good. But felt like we lost our whole evening waiting for dinner which took away from whole experience at the hotel. No buzzers too let you know it is your time. Lounge is same menu so takes same amount of time to get your dinner. Kitchen cannot handle the number of orders. Felt sorry for servers who seemed to be trying but had to deal with a lot of very frustrated customers.
