This place is iconic. The food is always great. Ravioli is still the best.

Lydia’s has an amazing atmosphere that is a truly unique and amazing dining experience. The food is worth the price - even at market price! The raviolis are made with love and the blue cheese cannot be beat anywhere! The staff is always friendly and welcoming. This is a must if you’re visiting Butte!

Beware, “market price” is heavily inflated and there is no price transparency from staff prior to ordering. 7 oz steak and lobster tail was $108, compared to same size steak with shrimp was $38. No clue what market they’re ordering from to get a $70 piece of rubbery lobster, that doesn’t even come in the shell. When I asked what the market price was after receiving the bill, the waitress said $101 Which makes absolutely no sense when the plate was $108. Discussed that we would have never ordered the dish if we had known that their market price was so far off of true market which is generally around $40 for a jumbo size tail in this area (I looked before ordering, didn’t think I needed to ask as I’ve never had an issue with researching market pricing before). The waitress just shrugged and said sorry.

As far as the food goes, in the first course, did not get what was promised. No potato salad, green peppers, or onion. Just a green salad, half a slice of thin cheese and half a slice of thin salami. One single sliced pickled beet the size of a quarter, not plural as the menu suggests. Watery dressing with chunks of blue cheese.

For the main course, the butter for the lobster tasted like movie theater popcorn butter - was not drawn as the menu suggests as it didn’t solidify while sitting on the table. Definitely not real butter. “Fried potatoes” were actually stale, greasy french fries. Spaghetti and ravioli were both very watery and cold.

Ice cream was good.

Wine was good.

Very disappointed in this place, as I was treating my son to a special dinner. Didn’t even realize that we were missing food until I went back to the menu while writing this review - even more upsetting, given our check came to almost $170 for two people!

Lydia's never disappoints us; my wife and I have been coming here since our wedding day in 2021. Their wait staff, food, and drink recommendations are nothing short of divine. In my humble opinion, they have the best house-made salad dressings and hollandaise sauce. Their steaks are sublime; cooked to perfection.

Steak &huge shrimp.
My husband hot a gigantic porter house..

The atmosphere was real nice, great lighting . Apparently the staff knew a couple of the patrons, who were EXTREMELY LOUD and drunk . I opted out of a chance to have some Huckleberry ice cream cause I could not take another minute of the non stop yelling & cackling across the room .

Growing up in Butte I was able to go here a few times. Special occasions. 35 years after my last time there I went with family and it was amazing. Still amazing, still special, please don’t change. Had the rib steak, melt in the mouth and tasty.

Lydia’s has gone way downhill. The food was super mediocre-steak not tender at all, salads sitting out on the table when we arrived, shrimp was flavorless. The salmon was pretty good. The exterior looks like it’s been through a hurricane, in drastic need of a paint job and grounds need major weeding. Definitely needs some work inside and out! Probably our last trip to Lydia’s!

Perfect place for a big gathering. My steak attilia was very, very salty - couldn’t eat it. Ice cream for dessert was weak. Put out butter, but no bread? Spouses steak was really good. Nice staff.

This place is awesome! Such a classy setting. We got there before they opened and they let us hang out in the bar until then. Very kind staff. I love how uniquely the food is served, all the sides just come out on their own regardless of what you ordered, and it's all so good! I highly recommend anything with their hollandaise sauce like my chicken Milan I ordered. The huckleberry ice cream was so amazing!

This is a nice building. BUT! I cannot understate how awful the food was. Very poor quality ingredients and poorly prepared. My husband got a NY strip (+$40) and it was incredibly thin like it had been tenderized flat. It did not look like a NY strip at all. I had chicken marsala. It was not good. Goat cheese crostini was good! The spaghetti and raviolis that come with dinner were sopping wet and overcooked. Service was not great. I asked for a glass of wine and had to walk to the bar after waiting for another staff member to get my drink order. The prices for service like this is unreasonable. This is one of the most expensive places around and is the worst meal we've had in a long time.
