Montana's Rib & Chop House - Butte

I arrived for dinner. The hostest sat me at a booth. I waited 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge me and at least get my order started but no one came over. There were 6 waiters and 2 bartenders in the area, but no one came over. I guess they didn't want to serve me or my money. I will NEVER return.

Doesn't get much better than this. Awesome food with flavor and cooked to perfection!! Not to mention all day Happy hour on Thursdays and great bartenders. Thanks Kayden you rock it!! Steaks are great. Definitely taking the 2.5hr drive to come back!!!

I used to come here quite often. About a year ago, they tacked on an extra $10 to their steaks. I still ate there. Then the food quality dive bombed. I ordered the ribs, and got burnt ribs, so dry I struggled to swallow them down with a couple beers. I wasn't happy paying $40 some dollars for a couple of beers and desiccated ribs, but I still went there once in awhile. Then I got a salad to go. They gave me rotten salad, wilted, slimey and just, in-edible. Tonight was the final straw. I ordered the chicken parm sandwich, and not only did I wait for 45 min, and only get offered one beer while I waited, but when I got it I am 99% POSITVE they gave me a days old sandwich that they had just re-heated. This place is now a no go for me, permanently.

We were traveling all day. We wanted a Montana meal… not a franchise meal. I asked for recommendations from a friend who lives in Boseman and we were pleased with her suggestion!

Everything on the menu looked delicious, so it was hard to choose. We had a very good experience with the service and the food. We are planning to return so we can try more of the dishes on the menu.

Let me start by saying I love the Rib and Chop House in Great Falls. This restaurant felt nothing like that, and that might be purposeful, I don't know. . It felt more like a sports bar, but with higher end steak house prices. I first ordered the chicken Masala and the chicken was cold and rubbery and the sauce was awful. Given how quickly it came out, I think it may have been frozen and just thrown on the grill for char marks. The waitress was very kind and the only reason this is 2 stars instead of 1. They let me pick a different dinner and I ordered the shrimp and scallop pasta. It was not good at all. The shrimp were mostly small and extra small in size, scallops were maybe half an inch big. Sauce was runny, no flavor, and it cost 32 dollars! I could have made it at home for under $5. They did offer me a free dessert and I got the lava cake, which seemed to me to be a microwaved cake and not good either. I should remember to listen to my husband... if you go to a steak house, order steak. Maybe I would have had a better meal. However I won't ever know, because I will not be returning.

Poor service….waitress was rude. Granddaughter got a steak and it was served on a salad plate, fries on the side, and no vegetable. Myself and friends dinner was lukewarm. Been there before and service and staff were great. Spent over $100.00 and will think twice before returning. Sad that one employee can ruin an enjoyable night out….

I am a HUGE fan of Rib&Chop and always go out of my way to dine at one of their establishments. Usually the food is excellent. However earlier this evening my wife and I dined at the R&C in Butte, which is located in the CopperKing Resort. The over-all experience was "Okay" at best. My medium rare ribeye steak had almost as much grizzle as it did meat...nothing even close to the quality of their typical ribeye. Whoever cooked it should have seen the grizzle patches (not marbling) and tossed it in the trash before serving it.
