“Our second meal from Highlander Taste. Had an amazing schnitzel sandwich at last summer’s Helena Mt beer festival. Each family member hit a different food truck and my Highlander schnitzel won hands down. We live in Canyon Ferry and drive right by the food truck nearly every day. Finally stopped to get their operating hours and wound up ordering. What a special meal! Wife and son had the schnitzel plate, with potato salad and cucumber salad. Very happy! I got their special with an amazing polish dog w/cream mustard, a cabbage goulash to die for, and four superb perogi (sp?). I opted for two meat and two potato, and couldn’t pick which was better! Excellent food at the new normal for prices. Their web page is coming, but they’re open Tuesday thru Thursday and Saturday 3-7, and Friday 11-7. Enjoy! Cheers, Sluggo”

Shannon did our wedding cake last year an we ordered a mini version of the same cake for our 1 year and she went the extra step and even made it look like our original wedding cake. She’s amazing and her cakes are incredible, we’ve been ordering cakes from her for years and they’ve always been amazing!”

“Growing up in the area this bar was a fun place to go as a child, playing pool and drinking Shirley temples was the highlight of my day, Katie and Kila Bakke are always a blast to be around, as an adult going into this establishment I’ve always felt safe and comfortable, the daily patrons are always always respectful and have a lot of great conversations in them. My uncle who recently passed was one of the patrons, they honored him with the post funeral service and put his picture on display for everyone to see, the owners of this establishment are good hearted people.”

“I love this gem. If you can get in on a day that it is actually open you are in for a treat. Unfortunately recently it has not been open on it’s posted hours of operation. It’s a little drive if you’re planning to dine from outside the East Helena Area. My suggestion is if you happen to have a friend that lives in the area have them check for you. This restaurant is so good that you can rarely get a call through! I again say I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT!!”

(besides myself I guess) I invited Bethany to go to lunch with me so she could experience real empathetic servers that help everyone and to witness how truly nice they are to EVERYONE, not just to their FREINDS, TIPPERS and good looking people W/$ Of COURSE she declined, no need to witness excellent service when GOOD is GOOD enough. Sorry Bethany, you are the one who is incorrect, I can not even began to list all of the wrongs done to me as a disabled individual at your business, nor do I want to relive them. WHAT STARTED Blackfootriver's HATRED TOWARD ME, YOU MAY ASK, "A CONVERSATION WITH A BARMAID" after about 3/4 - 1 year (of filling the Growler I used to have, ALSO this is THE ONLY WORKER THERE that said more than the required MEMORIZED, "can I get you a glass of beer" , as in she could and would talk to me, until a mgr would see her talking & then she would go quite. * THE CONVERSATION * ME "If you ever find that you have extra time on your hands AND you also want to add a friend, I volunteer. " BARMAID " That is the sweetest thing you could have ever said to me" Now she comes back from filling my growler and when she gets; back she grabs my money I have on the counter and disappear's into the crowd for the next 1 1/2 days....... she hides, behind workers, behind the bar, telling everyone I am the problem. Unless she has told everyone about taking my money & hiding away from me after stealing, then she is not telling Blackfoot the truth. And no, I did not get to give a tip to her like normal, it was grabbed off of the counter like some kind of ripoff. So, Bethany, in all honesty I can NOT retract my original review as it is based on 2 years of service, although I don't think Blackfootriver even KNEW I was a customer for the first year, year and half. No chairs, no tables not even a small stool for anyone who does not have working legs, and forget about a table upstairs, THOSE are stairs, not an escalator! In fact the only thing I could find you do for the disabled or more like to the disabled is to clog up the sidewalk on Park Ave. During the summer, with a bunch of drunks who do not want to move out of the way of people In wheelchairs. And THANK YOU for the trash, broken glass and vomit all over the sidewalk come Monday Morning. Thank you so much for your disability support, (I mean REALLY, not even a chair) ; and OH WELL, for reccommending your business to any family or friends, this, coming from a 3rd generation Montanan in their later years, with hundreds of family & friends. “We visited Planet Gyros for the second time today. The last time was before we started writing reviews, but we both loved it then and this time we walked in with great expectations.

As you step through the doors you’re embraced by the warmth of the environment. The long orange wall somewhat reminded me of a Mexican restaurant, and it definitely brightened up the dining area. The decor is bright with plenty of local posters of happenings going on in the area. The room is equipped with plenty of tables and chairs, although the tables are on the smallish, with chairs for two or three people. The acoustics are a little loud, but thankfully it’s not blaring music.

You place your order at the counter, self-serve your drink from the great selection, then wait at your table for them to bring out your food.
The drink selection includes Big Sky Sodas along with Pepsi products.

The menu consists of many different takes on the standard gyro. Otto ordered the Philly cheesesteak which he described as “Phenomenal.” I had the Ultimate Greek Gyro which was loaded with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, olives, cucumbers, and a ton of perfectly seasoned meat. I was pleasantly stuffed as we headed back to the car.

Good value, excellent food, Planet Gyros is a great place to grab a quick lunch. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
