Stopped in d/t many 5 star reviews. Initially we were the only customers. The solo barista did not greet us, continued to restock cups and straws while we waited with our toddler and infant in tow. Ordered 3 sandwiches and a chai tea. Waited 15 minutes and watched while FOUR other parties were served ahead of us (yes they also ordered sandwiches.) I had to take the kids to the car because they were growing restless. Husband gets to the car and barista forgot the chai. Chai was Luke warm, sandwich bread stale. I genuinely wish I had something positive to say. I’m hoping we caught them on an off day, but I regret stopping and will not return.

The girl from Seattle who served us was really kind, giving us interesting tips about our trip! It made an excellent American coffee and the cappuccinos were also very good. The environment is well furnished and comfortable, which is not a bad thing during a break

Amazing coffee with excellent service in a very convenient location with ample parking. The line of customers is always out the door, making this coffee shop a staple in Ennis. The merchandise inside is fashionable, reasonably priced, and always updated! You will find locals and tourists passing through at Black Butte Coffee. 10/10 recommend!!

This is the BEST coffee shop in a 200 mile radius! When we come to town this is always our first stop! The team is always so friendly! Highly recommend!

Ran into town for coffee for the next few days. Drove 1.5 hours from camp and made it with 10 minutes left to close (I thought I had a full hour left to close). Unfortunately, the espresso machine was already shut down, so I left empty handed and took the 1.5 hour trek back to camp. Super bummed because online it says it is open until 5pm, but they actually close at 4pm on the weekdays. As someone who has worked as a barista, I was told to never shut down the espresso machine before close for those that may come in last minute ?

I had no idea what I ended up ordering, I think it was a spiced chai latte (my friend got vanilla chai ??? Maybe. Sorry it was early) regardless, both were the BEST we have EVER had. SOOOO GOOD!!! If we were not Canadian we would be there every day....

Today was a two-cup kind of day so we stopped in tiny Ennis, Montana, to try out a small-business coffee shop that we almost passed.
First I gotta say. Ennis. Is. Adorable. What a beautiful little town! If you’re anywhere close going anywhere around, if you can do it, go through Ennis. Even if it makes your trip longer (within reason), go check out Ennis.
Black Butte Coffee Co was just like its town. Adorable. The two baristas? Adorable. The coffee? Delicious. The barista crew were a bit introverted, I think. Not overly anything: talkative, outgoing... but just enough to be graded with an A! You don't have to gush! You just have to know how to make a good cup! And they did! They know their way around an expresso machine, for sure! Five-star cup of coffee!
