The best food I have ever had, the owner and his son were very nice, they gave us free macaroons that were soooooo good and service was SUPER quick. I advise you to get the wagyu steak and fries. The meatloaf and the stroganoff were very good also. We loved all of it, especially the bread and butter.

We found this little gem when we found out the original restaurant we wanted to go to was closed. Boy am I glad they were closed! Tavern 287 is a must stop when in Ennis if you want really great food and the best service! We went in wanting steak and after talking to the owner, my husband ended up ordering Spaghetti and meatballs, and I had the special Lobster Ravioli in a cajun sauce. The pasta is freshly made each day and it was sooo delicious! As for dessert, it's not on the menu as it's always changing. We were lucky enough to come in on a night when they had lemon torte and raspberry/lemon cheesecake....oh my goodness!!! Amazing!!! Bonus surprise was their "Thank you" to us of fresh macaroons!!! We will definitely be back when we are in or pass through Ennis!!!

We had our wedding dinner there in September and it was fabulous. Bruce and his staff did everything to make sure all of our guests were taken care of. Food is fantastic and reasonably priced. We make sure we eat there everything we are in ennis. Bison meatloaf is my fav.

My lord the food here is delicious! You can tell everything is made with care. The meatloaf was incredible and brought me right back to home with mom. My husband had the steak with frites and that was also delicious. Also don’t skip the dessert the owners wife makes… They are absolutely made with love and care. We will for sure be back for more!

This place is a gem. The owner was very polite and helpful. The bison meatloaf with white gravy was great. Wine was good pickings. The atmosphere was very small town Montana - which made it seem like home cooking up a couple points. Do try. Definitely ask owner / manager for recommendations.

In town solo on a fly fishing trip, and after a frustrating windy day on the Madison River, I elected to drop in for Sunday dinner. It was the best decision I made all week! Owner Bruce was covering the front of the house as host and helping with serving. His relaxed, pleasant, patient manner sets the tone for the visit. My red beet salad with goat cheese arugula, cucumber, and a flavorful, yet mild vinaigrette was tasty and good-sized. The venison stroganoff, over house-made pasta was flat out delicious…pasta light (not heavy), sauce flavorful and complimented by just the right amount of sour cream. Dessert (made by Bruce’s wife) was a generous sized piece of pumpkin silk pie, which was big on flavor, but neither heavy, nor overly filling. Atmosphere was relaxed, with no pretentiousness. Quite reasonable prices, along with a delicious meal and genuinely friendly service combined to create an exceptional value. This place is a gem!

I walked in without a reservation and I was asked to come back in an hour; which was fine for me. When I go out to dinner on a Sunday night, I’m not usually in a hurry. When I came back I was seated promptly. The staff was friendly and my food came quickly. The house salad was good, not outstanding. But I’d come back just for the lemon cream lobster ravioli. Delicious. I will be visiting again. Next time I’ll go for the venison stroganoff.

We stopped in for lunch with friends. The owner met us and said if we were in a hurry it might take a little longer to get your lunch. He said he just wanted us to know that before hand. We were setted and made our order. We had great conversation with our friends as we were not in a hurry. Lunch was out in no time. Everything we had was delicious and well prepared. It's a great setting in downtown Ennis. We would definitely go back. Prices were very reasonable.
