This place hasn't changed much over the years, much to my delight. I used to eat here 40 years ago and it was like stepping back into the familiar. The chicken was great, as I remembered, and I am glad I stopped here for dinner!

Waitress tipped herself before we filled out our check, got the bank notification asked her about it, she went into the back and told the manager we were intimidating her and that we ripped something out of her hand. We just showed her a phone…. They then proceeded to kick us out without even trying to listen to our side of the story. It kinda sucks when going to a restaurant ends in filling a police report but so be it. GO SOMEWHERE THE WAIT STAFF WONT STEAL FROM YOU BECAUSE MANAGEMENT WILL LITERALLY JUST KICK YOU OUT IF YOU ASK THEM ABOUT IT. Funny thing is she actually was going to get a bigger tip than the one she gave herself….. Sam is the manager that kicked us out. Your food is way too cheap to be adding things onto people’s tickets BEFORE THEY EVEN SIGN IT and expect them not to notice. Of course I’ll notice, ITS TEN DOLLAR CHICKEN. Of course we got mad we got kicked out, you were stealing from us.

Well cooked chicken, but they dont spice it at all, that is how they've always served it. Coleslaw, not a lot of flavor, wife didnt like. Pork & Beans was heavy on molasses, blotted out the tomato like flavor most beans have. If you like bland food, that doesnt have a lot of spice and wont offend your taste buds , this place is right up your alley. Well cooked, this is Helena's spot for chicken and cold beer.
