Wonderful birthday dinner for our family. The live music that night was perfect. Service impeccable and food, ordered everything from crab cakes to spicy noodles to hamburger to chicken risotto was enjoyed by all.

Warm and lively , dinner was perfectly prepared! I can't wait to go back in the spring .

Friendly staff, delicious food, reasonably priced. Probably the best dining you'll find in and around Helena. I would definitely recommend the Highlander if your looking for a good meal!

Overpriced: Shrimp & Scallop dish $32. Comes in a deep bowl that is only filled at the bottom. This was a surprise. We thought they had run out of plates! It was weird. There were a handful of scallops and maybe 2 shrimp, mostly mashed potatoes, and some gravy on top. It was good, but nothing special and very overpriced for what you got. 3 of us ordered this dish. We all felt the same way. They charge for soft drink refills. Just be aware. Most places don't, but they are $2.50 per refill here. Terrible Service: It took well over an hour to get our food. No updates or check-ins by the waitstaff. Food Quality: See above for shrimp & scallops. My husband had the root vegetable salad and said it was very saucy and didn't taste too good. He also had the empanada appetizer which he said was good. Overall: As much as we love to support our local businesses, we won't be back. This was supposed to be a special birthday dinner for my husband and instead it was an overpriced disappointment. We have been in the past and it was quite good. This was our first time with new owners and we were not impressed.

A hidden treasure out on the East side of Canyon Ferry, the Highlander Bar & Grill never fails to excel! Superb food and service are the standard. The steaks are exceptional. Just had the scallops and shrimp. Served in a bowl with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables, it was the best I've ever had. The sauce was amazing and it was so huge I had another complete meal the next day for lunch! Looking forward to next Wednesday's dinner with wine pairing!

We love this place for dinners and at our last dinner they mentioned their brunch. Their Caesar's are very good and when they said loaded Caesar's at their brunch with shrimp and bacon we decided to try it. Sadly there wasn't shrimp with ours, still charged for it The breakfast took over an hour and then wasn't hot and we were out of time to send it back. They did have a very large function the night before that sounded like it went very late. We will go back for dinners but not for Sunday brunch.

Everything was perfect food, service, beverages, and the location is a beautiful area that we are neighbors to, so location is a bonus for us. This is a special place for us all memories we have created here with family, friends, and neighbors are outstanding. We will continue to be summertime regulars.

We LOVE this place. It is exactly what the Helena Valley has been missing out on for years. This is the place where you get to enjoy incredibly delicious food from international chefs, backed by super friendly owners, that employee a great staff, on a beautiful property in the woods, with a creek and farm animals, and hosting some of the best musicians in town to accompany your wonderful dining experience. The chef and his team keep things fresh with a rotating menu, which keeps us coming back for more. Look no further for the best of the best! We will be there again soon ?

The Highlander is the right combination of honkytonk ambiance and high-end culinary dishes. It is frequented by a mix of locals and out-of-towners all looking for a good night out. The bands on Friday and Saturday nights get the place hopping. The 9-hole pitch and putt golf course is also a fun way to spend an afternoon. Highly recommend!
