Small, quaint place with fantastic food! We had the filet and it was cooked to perfection! The owner was very nice and the high quality food was worth a small drive to eat! Live background music was wonderful!
I organized a surprise birthday dinner for my girlfriend and the Highlander went above and beyond for our party of 12. The food, atmosphere, and service was incredible. They created personalized custom menus with her name on them. The band playing that night also sang her favorite classic songs. Thanks for helping me pull off the surprise.
Amazing food, great staff. Full bar. Always accommodating and friendly. And the music! Live and talented local artists! It’s so worth the drive. It feels almost European.
Excellent food and service. This was our first time there and didn't know what to expect. Very friendly staff. We think the chef knows Gordon Ramsey 😉 The food was exceptionally great and the plating was phenomenal. The live music just added to the evening.

Over priced!!! 68.00 for a skinny, tough ribeye. Marginal service. We had a gift card and it took them 15 minutes to process. They acted like it was not a legitimate gift card. So mant flies and a big bug on the floor by our table...very gross!!!We will never go back!!!

Nice variety of food choices from burger and steaks to Japanese noodle dishes, lovely server and beautiful evening out on the deck.
Apparently the cheesecake hadn't set so the chef made us a fancy blueberry and banana Nutella toast. Felt like Willie Wonka was in the kitchen tonight. Our dinner was amazing too. #fancy

Bring snacks and plan on waiting at least 1.5 hours after you've ordered to get your food. Even if it's a beautiful evening, sit inside because it will be cold and dark before your meal arrives. Full sized salad was not full sized, a single layer of greens on a plate. Filet mignon was decent, chicken dish was good. Server tried to make it right by giving discount and free dessert, but the ridiculously long wait made for a disappointing experience.
Their reservation system is terrible. Make sure when you text them that they reply. We made the tip only to find out that it didn’t get processed. Had we known earlier different plans could have been made.

We were a party of 4 adults and 1 child. On a Sunday evening which wasn't overly busy it took 2 hours from the time we were seated until we left. We did have reservations so our arrival should have been expected. When we got there, a bit early, they were still setting up the dining room and we were asked to wait outside or at the bar until they were finished. The service was terrible. It took forever for the food to arrive. Then 3 orders came but 2 people were left waiting for their food 5 more minutes. I had to forgo manners and eat or my meal would have been totally cold by the time everyone was served. The server forgot to bring the bar drinks people had ordered with their meal and needed to be called over. On the positive side everyone enjoyed what they ordered, although they did say their daily special was smoked ribs and I am pretty sure I got their main menu entrée of short ribs. Because of the limited dining options in the area we would probably go back and hope for a better experience next time.
Restaurantji Recommends
I personally love this restaurant, the staff and the bartenders are definitely very kind and friendly. The food is excellent with so much flavor and has some great quality. The service was quick considering not too many people are here despite the quality of the food and the atmosphere. Speaking of the atmosphere, the restaurant is playing music to fit the theme of the building. The building is a country themed cabin/bar type of building with outdoor seating to view the nearby scenery and is even built on a 9 hole golf course. If you live in the Helena area, I highly recommend going to this restaurant.

What a hidden gem! We stumbled upon this place with a party of ten and no expectations and were blown away. Not only did they go out of their way to accommodate us, but we tried just about everything on the menu and every one of us cleaned our plate. Literally every dish was outstanding, including the desserts. And as a bonus, the 4 kids played in the beautiful creek the whole time and had a blast. The property is so scenic and the staff were very friendly. Honestly the best meal we’ve had in Montana. Do yourself a favor and go.

What a fun evening! Our recent dinner was wonderful. A fantastic live music setting, delicious dishes, and to top it all off, a quiet stroll around the grounds. It was like a scene out of a postcard.
And for the grandkids, and us too, we even snapped some photos of the furry Highland cows. Those shaggy, majestic creatures were the perfect touch to an already perfect evening. It was a truly memorable experience from start to finish! Thank you
