Loved this place! Servers and diners both looked like they were happy to be there. Great atmosphere and the best food I’ve had here. Will definitely be back
One of my favorites. This spot offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels straight out of the Irish countryside. The food is consistently delicious and comforting, and I always look forward to their seasonal cocktails, live music, and relaxed patio service during the summer months. A go-to favorite year-round.
Love this place music like every day which makes this place so unique
good food and staff are great and inside is amazing come here for food
Excellent bangers and mash!
After an 11-hour drive from the PNW, and with everywhere else closed, we found ourselves at the fainting goat. It wasn’t overly busy at the time, and we were pointed over to some seats by a host/bartender.
The blonde server with the overly cut bangs, happily acknowledged each table on either side of us while actively ignoring our table. We gave it some time before I flagged her down and asked “Can I ask for some menus?”. She grunted something and never came back but did manage to enthusiastically tend to all the surrounding tables. I’ve never encountered a server so devoted to making people feel unwelcome. I had no idea what we could have done to offend her.
I then realized all the other tables were locals, and some even seemed to take pity on us by offering their menus. It was a really sad moment for me when my 70+ diabetic father-in-law asked “I wonder why she can’t serve our table” and I had to tell him “It’s not that she can’t, it’s that she won’t.”
Eventually a very friendly server found us and took our order. Before I knew he would be serving us, I planned to order something very quick and easy for the rude server if she ever came back for us. None of us got too adventurous, I stuck with a salad and the guys had fish and chips; probably also ordering based on ease for the server. The person who ended up serving us is a Godsend to employers. Those are people who save business, and I’ll just never understand the culture behind miserable people like the blonde bangs server.
Being from the PNW, we have a lot of excellent, fresh fish options, so it wasn’t like what we ordered was novel to us. We knew we couldn’t ask for much based on the experience, so we didn’t really have a chance to find out how delightful the cuisine might have been.
If you’re from out of town, hungry, and find yourself at the fainting goat with that server, leave and go to the Mint, go to the Office, or just go hungry. It’s not worth the discomfort.
Two of us Sat at a table for 10 minutes before we got menus and ordered water. It was not busy, but the bartender did say that he was the only one there. He served 2 other groups drinks and never did get to us to take our food order. After about 1/2 hour we left because he was busy with other tables, and a couple more tables got filled so we were never served.
A good place to go...Livingston bar & grill were closed so we gave this a shot...not disappointed...would go back... atmosphere was juz like a bar should be.. recommended.
Have visited on two occasions over the past few years, both times in late May. I have not tried their food so get 4 stars because I don't know but have had several adult beverages there and in both visits they were good. Service was consistent each time with attentive and friendly staff. Prices are OK. Ample free street parking around the area.
I am so disappointed on where this place is at now. When you first opened it was such a breath of fresh air and my favorite place in town, but now it has gone to wayside. It is more of a frat bar now. We came in to give this place one more shot and it will be our last. The food was sloppy (who serves hot pretzels with cold gelatinous cheese), the service staff was rude and drinking a lot , and the kitchen staff was unwashed. I love the patio in the summer, but I will be skipping coming here with my friends and family this year. I sincerely hope you guys succeed, because this truly was once a very special place that holds a lot of special memories.
Such delicious drinks and food.

"No dogs dude!!!!".
When asked if we could bring in our certified registered service dog, we were given a bunch of sarcastic comments about, yeah right, a service dog sure. Total embarrassment in front of other patrons. incident occurred on 9/27, approximately 2 PM. Stood in the park above the entrance on Park Avenue and listened to derogatory comments made to other patrons.

We didn't realize it was Octoberfest when we decided to get dinner in Livingston. The streets were full of people. The Fighting Goat was packed.. but few tables were marked reserved. We were told by the hostess it would be about 30 minutes for a table. But as were getting ready to leave a gentleman who may have been the manager asked what we needed. (A table for 3.) He asked if we'd take a high top and we said YES! We were seated shortly!!!
Due to being OctoberFest and being super busy, it took awhile for the food to come out, but when it did, it was DELICIOUS! We LOVED the Cod Bites!!! (So was the cole slaw that came with it. One order of Bites was sufficient for the three of us!) The fried Deviled Eggs were great. And the Corned Beef dinner was amazing! We all had that!
We will definitely be back. It makes a great place to stop on our monthly trip between Helena and Billings!
BTW... our young waitress who's doing her graduate degree work at MSU was also a delight to work with.
Highly recommend! We will be back.
