I used to go here forty years ago with my baby sitter to get special cheese sticks. Several owners later, it’s still going strong! We live in Portland now but my wife ordered a birthday cake from Bernice’s and it was DELICIOUS, with not-too-sweet frosting, complicated layers, and a perfectly fluffy cake texture. This is great! Trump may be running again, but in one corner of the U.S. you can hide and take in the nostalgic goodness of freshly baked treats and a nice cup of coffee. 5 stars.

We have always heard of Bernice's as the bakery to check out. We finally stopped in today and overall, the experience was very underwhelming. We purchased a croissant, muffin, and two cupcakes. All four items were dry and had a tight crumb. We only finished the muffin and the other 3 were thrown out. Bernice's does offer local tea, which we enjoyed. The service was meh. Not overly friendly or helpful. The building and atmosphere was cozy, albeit a little cluttered. Some of the furniture was in good need of a dusting. I wouldn't say we'll return any time soon.

Kind of like my second living room at this point. I love their soup and sliders and am obsessed with their wheat free vegan chocolate cupcakes? I don't even have food allergies and love dairy but those babies are ridiculous!! Also - special shout out to Karlie for always killing it!

It is a combination bakery restaurant. The restaurant was very busy. The bakery consists of two small display cases with a very limited selection of baked goods. The young girl who waited on me used her bare hands to put my selections in a brown paper bag and copped an attitude when I refused a tip for counter service. The scones were more like stale cake than scones and the cookies ran the gamut from mediocre to disgusting. Based on how busy the restaurant was that might be worth a try but I would avoid the so-called bakery counter at all cost...

Love, love, love this place it is a fantastic place to grab a cup of coffee, some fresh bakery, or even sit down and have breakfast with friends. They have some of the best baked goods you can find in the Missoula area from donuts to flaky buttery biscuits to a great cup of coffee and a fantastic price you can't beat the service you can't beat the location. It really should be on your must stop list.

My son took me here for a pastry and coffee and I loved it and the people were very nice. Great atmosphere too.

For years and years (48 to be precise), I have had the most wonderful experiences at Bernice’s Bakery—getting all of my cakes for birthdays and Christmases and other events! But I’ve never ever had the treatment that I had this last visit. I wanted something special, and this is what I got, a pile of Rubble in a go-container! I just couldn’t believe it!

For our wedding, Bernice’s provided our slicing cake, a sheet cake for serving guests, and sugar cookies for guest favors. We wanted to incorporate Montana-themed details into our day, and the huckleberry filling was a delicious and perfect way to do this. Our 6” slicing cake was exactly what I envisioned, a simple white-frosted scalloped cake on their wood slice cake stand. Our guests loved the sheet cake, and the Montana-shaped iced sugar cookies were a huge hit too. Tamara was easy to work with and everything was exactly as we ordered. Would absolutely recommend Bernice’s.

I asked for their turkey sandwich special. By the time I got back to my car, I saw that I was given some chicken salad thing that was the size of half a biscuit - for $4. Not what I asked for. Went back in and asked again for what I ordered.. they were out of. Had to go, so I settled for a pecan roll. Super dry and taste about a day old. Shame because I was really looking forward to trying this place.
