We visited December 2024. The ice cream is super yummy! I got a Big Dipper sundae with a banana and vanilla ice cream and it was so very good. The young gentleman working was super nice and friendly. This is a definite must do when in Missoula!

I grew up eating ice cream here, worth going out of the way for. The huckleberry ice cream is phenomenal
I visited the Missoula Big Dipper Ice Cream Shop on Higgins Street and had a double scoop with Salted Caramel and Expresso Toffee. I loved the salted caramel it was smooth, rich and the taste was incredible. The Toffee was good, but the salted caramel was the bomb. The amount of ice cream in a scoop was very large. Definitely recommend!!

It can be a little confusing when they ask your name for an order but at the pick up window they just call out your ordered items instead of your name. Otherwise best ice cream in Missoula, maybe even Montana.
I had the lemon sherbert in a waffle cone, and it was fantabulous. The combination of tart and sweet is weirdly satisfying.

My party of 10 (2 families of 5) visited this ice cream shop on a Sunday evening close to 9pm. We were intimidated at first, noticing how long the line was when we arrived. The parking lot is very small, so you may need to find street parking which is what we did. Seating is all outdoors, which adds to the charm. Despite long lines, they moved quickly with two cashiers taking orders. Reviews mentioned that cashiers take your name for orders, but mine didn’t. Each item comes out separately and not necessarily in the order placed. I only noticed one name being called while we waited. All other orders were called by the item. I ordered five items (for my family), but one was missing, though it was ready within minutes of me asking about it. Everything we ordered was delicious and servings were generous!

Great Missoula spot with lots of interesting flavors. Giving it 4 stars because the only vegan flavors are sorbet, not ice cream, which is a bummer.
Edit: We went there 2x over 2 weeks and both times they told us they did not have any vegan ice cream except sorbet and didn't know when to expect more in.
