We had dinner at this place, and ordered edamame, the clockwork orange, shoots brah!, california rolls and drago's breath. We loved almost everything, surprisingly the cali rolls were not great or good in my opinion. I was expecting them to be amazing since the other rolls were so good, but the cali rolls were dry and bland(not sure how?). Regardless, I would highly recommend this restaurant. The other rolls were Amazing, and it so pleasant to eat. The flavors were great and not overpowering. The service was great and the vibe was good too.
AMAZING!!! Great sushi! Great service! Our waitress Christina was perfect! She went through the menu with us and helped us pick sushi based on our personal preferences. Everyone was kind and there was not once that we felt ignored! One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a long time! All the food was fresh and they do not skimp on portions! If you are super hungry once you arrive order appetizers since the sushi takes a little bit of time to prepare. Some other reviews about the food taking too long is ridiculous to me! GOOD FOOD TAKES TIME TO PREPARE! If you don’t have patience for a talented chef to prepare an amazing meal for you then go to McDonald’s and stop complaining! Thank you again Saketome and Christina for making us feel so welcomed!
Loved it! Had a very nice dinner with my husband there. Rolls were fresh and tasty. Service was good too.
Food wonderful, really delicious sauces. However, music was too loud on top of people talking it was deafening. I love the food but would think hard about going there again. They need some sound mufflers.
Honestly, the best sushi restaurant I’ve been to!!! I loved our waitress, and cooks. I wish I got their names. It was nice and quick to get into, the wait for our sushi was well worth it! A great place to go if you’re just looking for a place to sit with friends and family. Definitely coming back!!!!
A bit pricey but wouldn't do a simple to go order. Tried to make us dine in like they think it is worthy of a fine dining categorization. Been eating here for years slowly watching the slow degradation of both service and food quality, both upstairs and down, especially noticeable when this owner started concentrating on his new upscale location. After a long time patron is refused a simple order to go at dinner, when hungry, with no understanding, he’s probably going to make Kobe the new go to for Zoo town sushi.
Amazing food! The 48 hr short rib appetizer was magical: perfectly crispy on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth soft on the inside. We will be back to try other dishes!
My wife and I have eaten dinner here many times-always excellent food and service. This past visit, it took forever to get my sushi roll order-the waitress and staff making the rolls came over and apologized to us profusely. Once I did get served the rolls, the waitress offered us a round of drinks on the house. We learned the value of patience, especially knowing restaurants are challenged right now to hire staff and get back to normal. We thanked our waitress with a huge tip. We remain loyal customers and hope we are lucky enough one day to see Bill Murray here too on one of our future visits!
The service was horrible. They lost our order and it took over an hour to get our initial sushi. Moreover, three rolls were left off the initial order and it took another forty more minutes to get those three rolls even though we were told repeatedly that 'they would be up shortly'. The food was okay, but considering the price it should be better than just okay. We received no apology from any management and no one seemed at all concerned that it took us nearly two hours and half hours to finish a simple meal (just sushi--nothing cooked). All and all, simply pathetic; avoid this place and go somewhere where they care.

The sushi is really good. It looks good, tastes good, etc. Atmosphere is hip for downtown Missoula. The service isn't. Wait staff very casual. Literally just having a chat with the tender while we wait for them to take our order (waited 15 minutes to place an order when it wasn't even busy).Folks behind the sushi bar crushing beers left and right. I'm not against drinking, but this is highly unprofessional. The guys literally crouched down to consume their apparently "hidden" on-the-job drinking (you're working directly in front of me). Also handling some food with bare hands. Not a good scene even with many community members vaccinated. The sushi rolls are very good. Very pricey, but I'd say in terms of taste, presentation, and amount, you get what you pay for (perhaps a bit pricey). In terms of service, absolutely not. If the service was even halfway decent, I'd give this at least 4 stars.
LOVED it! Fun atmosphere in the front, quiet dining in the back. Great service. EXCELLENT sashimi. High quality. Cool environment and easy to get to. Highly recommend if you love sushi.
One of our favorites on a 7 day hiking, brewery hopping and culinary tour in Missoula while visiting our son. Tried to get take out fri night but not doing takeout as they were swamped. So, after spending so much time deciding on which rolls, we just had to try again. Got a reso for sunday nt and i'm glad we ate in instead of takeout. Both the decor of the restaurant, the friendliness of the wait staff and the true artistry of the sushi wouldn't be the same with takeout. We got all rolls so my son had a better chance to know which one to get just for himself next time. There are also gluten free rolls for his S.O. Water waiting for us at the table, drinks soon in hand. we loved the blue coconut frothy drinks-also the jalapeño drink (spicy!). As others have mentioned the miso is on steroids--tons of mushrooms and onions!. Edamame and seaweed salad good. Now for the rolls--all were truly a work of art and you could tell the fish is fresh and top grade. Our favorite was the DT aftermath (citrus flavored with mango and lemon slice) and the zootown (some nuttiness and smoky flavor to it). Also very good (but ranked lower on a very competitive scale) was the clockwork orange. Finally was taiwonon--good but not our fav. Prices are high for Missoula but quality of sushi matched San Francisco (where we just visited our other son and ate lots of sushi).. Awesome job saketome!!
Was it worth waiting 55 min in a 3/4 full restaurant waiting for your food on a Saturday night ? No. I’m at the bar watching chefs work, talk, talk, then work. Not cool. The food was fine. But again I’m baying $18-$20 bucks a roll for good service too. Such a bummer. I’ll pass next time.
