We visited December 2024. This is a MUST DO when in Missoula! We loved it! Drinks and food were just amazing. Staff were great, attentive, and kind. Atmosphere was cozy. We could have stayed here all night! We will be back!!
Parking: On street and parking ramp available. Parking after 5pm and weekends is free on street.

This is a favorite Speakeasy of mine. I love the underground steampunkish atmosphere and they have fun drinks. I do like it better if it isn't crowded though, but that's because I don't like places when they're too busy. Highly recommend!

Tucked in the alley behind Pangea, Stave has a cool atmosphere. Unfortunately, the first thing you notice is that it is LOUD. For some reason they have the music blaring and it makes conversation very challenging. My phone clocked it at 90 db!
Luckily the volume for the dueling pianos was reasonable.
Dueling pianos, great idea! And the guys play well. I wish there was more banter and audience interaction/participation. Seems like that’s supposed to be the point of the thing.
Food wise the poutine was fine with nice gravy and the flourless chocolate cake (very small portion) was delicious.

Gets a bit loud in the restaurant. If they would just turn the music down some, a person could actually communicate with the people your with.

Place was not even all the way full. We sat there for 20 minutes never even got asked for our order. Can’t comment on the quality of the food or beverages since we left before we had the chance to obtain anything, but service was certainly well below expectations.

Wonderful had a great time wonderful history
The drinks, food atmosphere and staff are incredible. Trivia with Lando is a staple to the community night life. The Burlesque events and live piano really make this a place to visit. I especially appreciate that you welcome everyone and it's not stuffy or pretentious. Keep up the good work.

The menu has been severely cut back and all wait staff is new. Great trivia on Wednesday nights. Just eat before you come.

Avoid this place, along with it's 'sister restaurants', at ALL costs.
The owners are horrible people that are out of touch with how the business is actually run (of course they will disagree) that treat their staff like disposable diapers and take ZERO input from highly qualified industry experts.
When your entire staff is either fired (including management) or quits en masse, the inevitable business closure is soon to follow. And Missoula has a small, tight nit industry community. Word spreads quickly. For these people I wish NO luck.

Not gonna lie, it’s been sad to watch the slow decline of this establishment; this place has been circling the drain for a while now.
In the past few months I’ve seen them change the menu several times, severely limiting the options each time. What food they do have is odd, bland, and often — too much. Why are you putting Muenster on a French dip or serving it on a brioche bun?!?!! You need more basic bar food.
The worst part, though, is the constant staff changes. They’ve appeared to completely clean house on their staff twice this year. It really makes you wonder how they treat their staff to have such dysfunction. The staff they replaced their recently departed staff with has been rude, and alienated the few remaining regular costumers they have.
The ONLY thing this place has going for it is their trivia night. They still have the best trivia night in town. But judging by how this place has operated in other aspects, I presume that won’t last much longer either.

Prices went way up and they cut live music.
Great vibe, good drinks and the food was amazing. Wednesday is trivia so if you prefer a quieter experience, it's not the best night. Saturday has live music and the same applies. Kitchen closes at 9 so be prepared.
Good drinks and food was excellent
