In Missoula visiting daughter she suggested Tamarack Brewing for supper. Ordered the fish tacos. Very filling. Tasty and had the clam chowder as the side. Soup was very good. Lots of clams and chunks of potatoes. Wish it was hotter. I think it sat too long before it was delivered. Had a thick layer on top. Had to stir the soup. Wife ordered the Baked Brie Salad. Used to come with Apple slices. Instead Apple Chutney. She also asked for no onions. But it came with onions. She also had chicken added to salad. Server noticed and offered to make another. She enjoyed the salad. Daughter ordered Chicken Enchiladas. She enjoyed the dish just a bit spicy. Green Chile sauce could be the spicy part of the mixture. Lots of TVs great place to watch Winter Olympics. Or Sunday to watch Super Bowl. We found lots of tables down stairs.
I’d give a zero if I could. Multiple issues were wrong and as a first time customer, it was extremely disappointing.
1. The server didn’t know the price of the Athletic brews and she didn’t know the soup of the day. She didn’t check on us once during our meal to ask if we needed anything or refills.
2. One person in our group ordered the chicken enchiladas and they were cold when she got them. The manager offered to comp them, but the other people in the group were halfway through our meal and he said it would take 15 minutes to make new ones. Since we were almost done, she decided to get a side salad instead. She did say the blue cheese was very good.
3. The other 3 people in the group ordered burgers, all medium well. All of the burgers came out charred and very well done. One burger was dripping black oil onto the plate from how charred it was and the other burgers were bitter.
4. One person asked for the Big Sky burger without the onion ring, but it still came with it. Another person asked for no toppings on the cheeseburger, yet the lettuce, onion, and tomato were on the burger when it came out.
All in all, if you want to eat their food, maybe be drunk before you try it.
We had a take out order on 12/26. Paid $8 to add chicken to our salad-got back to our hotel and no chicken. Called them immediately and the manager said they would refund my credit card for the $8. Never received the refund and the rest of our food was not great. Used to come here every time we were in Missoula but probably won’t go back.
Went the other day for a dinner that was beyond my expectations and the service was great! The brie salad and the salmon sandwich both good, but I must say the pizza was bomb!
Had a good time and great food on New Years Eve. The fish tacos were amazing and the Fish and Chips was great. We'll definitely have to come back.
The chicken and waffles is SO good
UPDATE: RUDE WAITRESS, FOOD TOOK 25 MIN AND WE WERE ONLY 3 TABLES WHEN WE GOT THERE. OTHER PEOPLES FOOD CAME OUT WAY BEFORE OURS. SANDWICH WAS COLD FRIES COLD AND WAITRESS DIDNT EVEN COME OVER THE WHOLE TIME. MANAGER NEEDS TRAINED IN CUSTOMER SERVICE! WILL...NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN
Great food! We had the keg nachos, spinach artichoke dip and railroad ties. Everything was delicious! Service was superb and we loved the view of the park.
Thank you, Chris! I’m sorry you have to deal with the DoorDash workers, sometimes. You’ve done nothing but uphold the standards of a restaurant, and quite frankly, you should be paid more! ( I have no idea how much you get paid, but being in the service, I’m sure you deserve more! ) 🤣
The food and service directly from the Tamarack is always above and beyond! Thanks, dude!
Tamarack Brewery in Missoula delivered a truly solid experience—wallah, it hit the spot from start to finish. I ordered The Montanan’ pizza, and it was honestly the star of the visit. It came malyan lahmeh (loaded with meat), full of flavor, and the personal size was more than enough—ya salaam, every bite was perfect.
To go with it, I tried their ’TOBERFEST beer, which was smooth, balanced, and sahtein to sip. It paired perfectly with the pizza and is definitely a brew I’d come back for.
The vibe at Tamarack is warm and inviting—mish ma’oul how relaxed and comfortable it feels. Friendly staff, good music, and a laid-back atmosphere make it easy to unwind and enjoy the moment.
Overall, a great spot—min akhir, worth a visit for anyone looking for good food, great beer, and an easygoing vibe.

I've eaten at Tamarack over the years, and most recently went to brunch on Sunday. Food has always been filling, with generous portions that allow you some leftovers. For my recent brunch, I had the breakfast BLT and did their 'make your own mimosa' bar-about an extra $2 to mix your own juice and fruits. It was quite an impressive bar for the various fruit options. Service is almost always great, with friendly staff. I'd recommend stopping in for a dinner or brunch if you're able.
Ordered the railroad ties, could barely get through one of them the texture was so off-putting
I don't really enjoy food or eating... I'm weird. And I never really put in reviews. But the fish and chips (well, the fish) and the bison burger were truly delicious.
This place was highly recommended I was so excited to stop in! To say the least I will never return the worst costumer service by the host and bartender I have EVER had! I was told the empty tables in the bar that were empty had people coming with reservations…. Waited 15 minutes to be acknowledged while standing by the table to get a beer. Then met the nicest people that walked in and got seated at the table that I must add did not have a reservation!! Cheers waited patiently for a beer and will never be back.
Delicious food & Christian S was the best waiter I’ve had in years
