Last night my wife and I enjoyed our anniversary with dinner at The Keep; our favorite dinner venue in Missoula. Laurie and Peyton were wonderful, ensuring that we felt at home and among friends, as always at the The Keep. Our dinner items were, as usual, properly prepared, nicely plated, and delicious. We will continue to be "frequent flyers" at this local treasure.

The Keep is in a beautiful and unique setting in the south hills above Missoula. It has a vintage feel of the country club lifestyle since it is on the golf course. The deck has stunning views and a relaxed atmosphere and the dining room is cozy. I had a beer and appetizer that was good. My friend had the full filet mignon dinner and said it was really good also. The wait staff was attentive but not pushy and the prices were expected for that type of restaurant. All in all a pleasant experience.

We were pleasantly surprised with our experience at The Keep. We both had the duck and it was perfect. We will be back for sure!

Everyone’s entree was absolutely delicious! The macadamia crusted halibut was not to be missed! Caesar salad was just ok. Drinks good. Server was informed about their wines and didn’t push the higher priced wines. Triple chocolate mousse dessert - YUM! Would be very happy to eat here again!

Higher end dining. Full bar. You get what you pay for, and I've never been disappointed.

The food was not enjoyable , the service was not very good either. Ordered bread (it wasn’t warm) and before we even finished they took the bread away. Only I wanted my food to go, my date did not want her food. I asked for my plate to go they then brought us the check but never brought the food back. It wasn’t that big of a deal because the food was mediocre. Two appetizers, two drinks, two entrees, none of which were impressive, came to a total of $140 after tip. I would not go here again

Loved our visit at the keep. Everything was delicious, customer service was wonderful! We haf a bit of everything! Ahi tuna & the whipped ricotta were both delicious! The cod was beautifully cooked & everything proportions!Dirty martini was great, would’ve loved a colder glass & some stuffed olives but that’s me being picky :)Will go back!

Went here for the first time a while ago with my partner and we really enjoyed ourselves! The service was wonderful and the staff understood that we were new to a more fine dining establishment. The Building and view are beautiful which is the cherry on top. The food was really amazing. We ordered the bread service, calamari, the bison burger and the risotto cakes and it was all delicious! I only took a picture of the drink but it was good too! The only thing that bothered me was the lighting. You really have to go when it’s light out because as soon as that sun sets it’s gets pretty dark in there. But Overall I think we will definitely make this an annual treat!

The good: good cuts of meat, great service, borscht was incredibleThe bad: rare filet had a lot of char, ash taste was overpowering. Also, it's the darkest restaurant I've ever been to. Not sure if that's on purpose but we had to use phone lights to see the food.

It's unfortunate that Missoula does not have more choices for fine dining. It's also unfortunate that The Keep does not, in our opinion, reach the bar of a fine dining establishment. It could be, it certainly has the location and the food is good. Most of the dishes we ordered were well prepared. The calamari appetizer was very good, nicely fried with good sauces. The Three Sister's Salad was a disappointment as there was not much flavor. The Salmon dish was moist with a buttery flavor and the Ribeye was fine, but not worth the $52 price. The big letdowns were the service and the atmosphere. The restaurant, at least the front section by the windows, was very loud. It was difficult to carry on a conversation and the waitress kept having to repeat things to customers. It was also cold. We, and others, were wearing our coats/jackets at the table. Our visit, first and possible last, was for a special occasion. We were celebrating two birthdays, one of them a milestone birthday. This information was shared with the restaurant on the reservation form. I think out waitress was not in a good mood. She was pretty lifeless and it did not set a nice tone for the meal. She checked on us once during the meal. The only mention of a celebration was when she brought the check and said "Happy birthday" to the table. Really? This was after she did not notice/comment that we did not finish our dishes or order dessert. A nice approach would have been to mention the celebration at the beginning of the meal. Maybe even offer a free dessert or glass of wine? We did want dessert, just not here. We went to another restaurant and had a nice dessert with pleasant service.Come on folks, up your game. We need better restaurants here!!
