Can’t sing enough praise to Ed in one google review. It is a leap of faith booking a caterer for a wedding from across country without ever tasting the food. But WOW did this bbq exceed all expectations. Total crowd pleaser. Excellent service. 10/10 food. Only downfall is how full I was at the end because I could not hold back from going up for more. I cannot recommend Ed McGrew enough. We are so unbelievably grateful.

Our son hired Ed to cater his small wedding reception at our rented house. The food was ALL so delicious! He also stayed and prepped and served the brisket. The mac and cheese was cheesy, and the cole slaw was great! The watermelon salad with mint was a hit, too. I would highly recommend Ed McGrew’s BBQ!

Ed McGrew's BBQ prepared a fantastic pulled pork meal for the 70 plus people attending my son's graduation party. The meal was ready on time and cooked to perfection. I couldn't have asked for more.

He has smoked all kinds of meat for us for years and we can’t stop excitedly bringing in more and more, anxious to taste what he comes up with. In the midst of the busy season here in the Flathead, Ed so generously fit us in for smoked ribs last minute to accommodate our son’s graduation party. The compliments haven’t stopped coming. The meat was SO juicy, tender and flavorful. Whether it’s lunch in downtown Whitefish or a catered celebration you will be absolutely thrilled you chose Ed’s! And I promise you will be coming back for more!

We had Ed cater our wedding at Star Meadows Ranch last June and let me tell you...the food was the talk of the event. Wagu brisket, macaroni and cheese, watermelon salad all SO DELICIOUS. Ed is just a great person, and was so friendly and easy to work with. He has great working relationships with folks in town, including Sam and Tristan of Star Meadows Ranch. He goes the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect. And to that point, dessert was no exception. He lined up with Sweet Peaks to set up an ice cream bar to accompany our cake. No empty tummies or disappointed faces in that crowd! Ignore the 3 stars guy, go back to Texas lol.

Ed was easy to work with and his food was amazing! We had ribs, brisket and pulled pork. I would definitely recommend trying his BBQ if you are in Whitefish!!

Best BBQ food in the whole Flathead Lake area! Ed did a wonderful job catering our wedding, the food was incredible, and he was very kind and responsive through the whole process. Good as it gets in Montana but it ain't Texas bbq. No flavor in the smoke or bark on the meat.

What an amazing experience we had at a wedding where we were served some of the best BBQ this side of the Mason Dixon and Mississippi. Ed McGrew’s BBQ of Whitefish, MT stands tall among any Q that I have eaten from Texas, KCMO, or the Carolina’s. Good barbecue has just enough smoke to create the richness and flavor without overpowering the natural flavors produced when slow cooking the meat. McGrew’s BBQ was just that… SO GOOD and flavorful. GOOD Beef Brisket can be tricky. Professional pitmasters will be the first to say it. But McGrew has found the secret. As I watched him slice the brisket for plating it was a culinary masterpiece. The marbled fat in the meat had rendered down making it juicy and tender and imparting a wonderful flavor mixed with the rub as it absorbed the smoke evident by the crimson red smoke ring around the entire slice. Another mark of GOOD BBQ: it needed no sauce! All of this to say Ed McGrew and his assistant provided a wonderful meal on a special day as evident in the satisfied smiles of hungry wedding guests. The bride and groom were equally impressed with this one-of-a-kind feast. I highly recommend Ed McGrew's BBQ to everyone!
