We had a comfortable 4 night stay at Farmhouse Inn. Based on the online reviews and description we were expecting a bed and breakfast vibe, but this is more like an Airbnb room above a non-operating cafe.
Full self-service check in/check out - we never saw any staff or other guests! And no housekeeping/linen or towel service etc. The location is great, rooms are simple (but basic) just different than we expected!

I visited the farmhouse today for the first time and spent over 4 hrs there. Such a warm inviting atmosphere and yummy yummy beverages. I had 2 lavender lattes while I was meeting w/ a friend lol. Yummy food, delicious beverages, a beautiful atmosphere, and the owner was sooo welcoming. Will definitely be back again and again!!

We just had a quick overnight stop here before an early morning train. The room was really cute. Do get a bit of disturbance from the trains but it didn’t bother me too much. Super fast internet, nice bath tub. We booked through the website which said we would be able to get an early morning breakfast from 6am but when we went down at 7am it was still closed. Bed was fairly small but comfortable enough. It’s not exactly a bed and breakfast in the sense that it is unattended, but I would stay here again.

We stayed at the Farmhouse after a week hiking in Glacier. It was such a pleasant stop for us. The owner, Chris, was so willing to assist us with everything we needed. The room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We realized this was a renovated old home which added to its charm. The community is all being renovated adding excitement for what’s to come. Nearby is a lovely trail along the railroad that we walked several times down to Whitefish Lake … beautiful! The Kitchen served us the most delicious breakfast!! Everything tasted amazing and was so fresh!!Perfect place for a night or 2 away from a busy life. Try to catch the Farmers Market. Wow what a treat! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! you will be disappointed! Wow. What a let down this place was. I thought I was booking a managed bed and breakfast - this is an OVERPRISED air bnb. And not a good one. On arrival we discover the place is right next door to the train line and out front is a HUGE construction site. Looks like 2 years of building to go. You enter the property thru the LAUNDRY! You only have access to your room. Our room was for 4 pax. We had 2 people and couldn’t swing a cat. The only place to sit is on your bed. There was nowhere for our luggage. You make coffee sitting on the toilet. GROSS!! It is sold as a breakfast included, However we were going to glacier np on Saturday and we asked for breaky before 9am. They said no we don’t open for breaky until 9am so they gave us cake. On Sunday there is no breakfast. Again we got more cake. What a ripoff. This place is a dud!!

We didn't stay here but had a very nice meal on the patio. The food and staff were both exceptional. We'll be back!

I can’t speak to the hotel because we didn’t stay here, but let me just say that the food here is fantastic. My family ate a good variety of everything - pastries, avocado toast, etc- but I had the best bagel and lox I had on this trip back to the USA. I lived in Brooklyn for 17+ years, and this is a very good bagel. Highly recommended for folks staying in Whitefish.
You can’t beat the location, and the inn is charming. We prefer boutique hotels to traditional bed & breakfasts, and the Farmhouse Inn is a nice combo of both. All of the following work well for us, yet you should know and be prepared for the these things, which aren’t for everyone: there is no lobby or staff onsite; you’ll get a code to access exterior and interior doors; there is no daily housekeeping. There are a few hooks on the wall but no closet (in Room 2), so pack so you can live out of your suitcase or use the bench in the room to store your clothes on. Parking is free and right out back. The food at the restaurant is really good! However, the restaurant is not open on Sundays or Mondays, so plan ahead. There are plenty of good breakfast options in Whitefish.
Closed and no note or anything on the door?
We stayed at the Inn for only one day and found it to be very conveniently located near downtown. The room had everything we needed except a switch to switch off the hallway light that was shining through the door when the room's lights were turned off.
Very poor experience. While the location is close to everything, its also close to the train tracks so I awakened throughout the night EVEN with a white noise machine. The mattress compresses down to a pack of cards and the bed is VERY short. The room is right out a NYC hotel room as in tiny...there is no way it could accommodate more than one person. There is not comfortable place to sit. The owners were unresponsive to questions and they did not event serve breakfast. After booking they mentioned I had to eat elsewhere. The wifi directions were incorrect. The walls are thin, I could hear the couple across the hall. And finally the only parking spaces are under a tree that drops sap on your vehicle. Wonderful!
