Local Mexican spot in Mercado 28. Many options s to pick from that have similar menus and vibe. I found the found to be ok to good. Prices are set for tourists- we definitely paid more than what the menu prices totaled. But when it is hot and humid and you are hungry , cerveza and tacos works.

Incredible food, service, environment, and price. We were seated immediately by our server Lupillo, service was attentive and food outstanding. Coming from LA, we have good Mexican food but nothing like Mexico.
The liquidados de fresas or Strawberry smoothies were fresh and real. No preservatives.
Chilaquiles Verdes were amazing. Crunchy tortilla chips, juicy sauce and not greasy whatsoever.
Tacos Al Pastor came with three in one order and the meat was really tender and flavorful. The habanero salsa that comes with it was so spicy, it was delicious (if you can handle spice).
For 5 items we spent 440 pesos or $25 USD.

Economical, simple restaurant, conversation with the waiter because it attracted us (and we were hungry), what it is: Simple and Economical, people!! Don't wait any longer!!! For the price it is what it is, even foreigners (we are national visitors) look for and want to eat something simple and economical!! At least it took away our hunger

The restaurant is in the busy Mercado 28 complex in Cancún. The waiters are extremely aggressive in soliciting customers. Even when we walking into the restaurant we were quite surprised that the waiters from the adjoining restaurant was trying to steer us towards their establishment.Notwithstanding their aggressive soliciting their food was pretty good and reasonably priced. We explained to the waiter our vegetarian preferences and he readily customized the dishes for us.They do try to upsell. Steer you towards the more expensive dishes or buy more. At one point the waiter was ordering dishes on our behalf! However it’s not a hard sell and when we firmly indicated what we wanted and he was quite agreeable.The food is good, the prices reasonable and you can’t beat the attention!
Vegetarian options: Willing to customize dishes and make the vegetarian.

The food is disgusting, I don't recommend it, it tastes disgusting, the shrimp are very few, I ordered a chili water for 250 pesos and a beer, they only give you 5 shrimp and the beer at a time and it is already burnt, the beer and the plastic plates they give you The food and a shrimp cocktail tasted like plastic, the shrimp tasted horrible that I have ever eaten in my LIFE I WOULD NEVER GO BACK AND THE WORST THING IS THAT I TOLD THE WAITER AND HE GOT BUSY!!NEVER EAT THERE!! My wife was poisoned at this restaurant by one of the senior staff members. Just because she returned a mixed drink that was watered down. For a week and a half now, she has been sick. Mean people when you disagree with their service and mixed drinks. My advice save your money and time in Mercado 28.
Don't bother. You will not have a moments peace here and the food is not good. There is someone trying to sell you something from the moment you sit down. It's really annoying.

Everything was perfect….until the bill. Food was good. Service good and fast. Staff was friendly and attentive. Then the bill came and we were charged 80 peso/taco x15, not 80 peso per order like the menu said. Ripped off in true Mexican style and turned me off the entire area. The scams do irreparable damage to the entire experience, area, and other vendors.
