We came here for a late breakfast, ordered scrambled eggs Mexican style w ham- the portions were superb and they brought out a serving dish of salsas, limes and spices to go with them. Great food at amazing prices. This place was across the boulevard from our Airbnb and I’d recommend for anyone looking for quality Mexican foods at less than tourist prices. They serve quickly, staff is very friendly. On a major boulevard but ambiance was inviting with good music, basic amenities.
We are at this local restaurant which was close to our hotel. The service was friendly and they spoke English. We ordered the guacamole to start. Unfortunately, it wasn't well flavored...I think it was just mashed up avocado. However, the standout was my chicken mole was 160 pesos. The sauce was incredible and it was served very hot.
The server was attentive and brought a fan over to cool us off when he noticed we were sweating like crazy. That's really the best part. The chicken enchiladas with salsa verde were not very good, and the fried beef tacos were exceedingly bland. The chips and guacamole were so-so. The worst part was the margaritas. A tequila detector would have registered nothing. Worked okay as limeade, but that was it. There were probably other tasty things on the menu, I just wish I had known what they were.
We visited the restaurant for a very later dinner after a day of being touristy. Despite it being after 10 pm, the restaurant was still busy, and despite some difficult customers at a neighboring table, we received excellent service from the restaurant staff. Neither my husband or I were overly hungry, so we ordered light. My husband had four tacos a la carte, which he said were very good. I had a cheese and mushroom quesadilla that was good sized and delicious. We were both very satisfied with our experience.
I have been there several times before and was never let down. The portions, price, and quality were always on par. On my last visit, we ordered three pancakes with bacon. Three aqua frescas. One plate of carnita (3) tacos and a coke. We were in a bit of a hurry. When we asked for the bill, the waiter showed us a calculator with 870 on it. My wife paid it. In retrospect, I feel that 58 USD was high for what we got.
Excellent

We stopped twice on our trip once for breakfast and then our last night on the island for a late supper. Outstanding food, drinks, and service. Best part, authentic Mexican food without the Cancún prices. A must stop.
The worst carnitas Michoacanas!! And service was awfully slow. Better spend your money somewhere else. People who gave this place 5 stars never had the real carnitas if you ask me.
very rich
Very tasty, very clean, the sauces are delicious

We ate here 4 times and the food and serivce were consistenty great. We tried the chicken enchiladas, pastor gringas and pastor alhambres(sp?) and we were pleased with the taste, quality and size of the servings. Despite being a casual restaurant we recieved fine dining service by Yanni our waiter. Yanni was definitely key in our decision to return as many times as we did. He was very welcoming, attentive and helpful. His food suggestions were spot on and a fine dining restaurant would be lucky to snap him up. I also want to mention the saucy condiments were tasty and the bean soup that came with the alhambre was yummy. It looked like the employees were team players and helped to make the food and service so enjoyable.
The tacos an enchiladas we had at Carnitas Michoacan were pretty good for what's available in the hotel zone. Prices were relatively reasonable and service was good. It was within walking distance of our hotel.
Loved finding this little place walking distance from our resort. Excellent food, cheap beer, and great service. Carnitas are more of a breakfast food in Mexico so they tend to run out before the dinner hour. The marinated pork and beef are just as good though and cooked fresh to order at the outdoor grill. I seriously wanted to stand over the grill with a fork and just graze!
Very well served food by local people. Generous amount of food. They accept Credit cards. Local, simple, but very good.
Cheese on the alambre was amazing. Arrachera is recommended. Definitely one of the best deals in the hotel strip.
