The guacamole and fried fish taco are really good. The staff is nice and they can talk in English and Spanish.
This hidden gem is simply the best of the old world mexican cancun... The freshest of everything and the fish, The C e v I c e, And everything else was simply the best. Even though we stay in an all inclusive, We still come here for lunch or dinner. Nothing fancy but simply the best and economical.
I enjoyed my visit , restaurant is a hidden gem across street from GR caribe/royal solaris , if your staying their it’s worth the walk over. Their menu is more condensed then it was in past but everything was delicious. Cash only restaurant
This place is hands down one of the best places we’ve eaten at in Cancun! The waiters are awesome the ambient is relaxing and overall a 10/10! Definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area! Excellente todo!!!
A great find. Awesome authentic local food. Great service, great food, great prices. Highly recommend!
My wife wife and I had shrimp cocktails on June 19 a day before returning to home to USA. WE HAVE BEEN SICK WITH DIARRHEA AND VOMITING FOR OVER 10 days. That was the last meal we had.
Not a lot of options for real restaurants down amongst the all inclusives, but this place had open fire grilling for fish and shrimp, along with cold beer. Good service. Note -- is cash only. They take dollars but not MasterCard!
Finally made it to this place for dinner on our first night in Cancun. (Tried on a few last Cancun trips, but they close at 7pm!!!!) First the good: Garlic shrimp were really, really good and great portions Garlic fish was tasty as well Guacamole was good but was pretty much just avocado (had to mix in pico, salt and some of the garlic sauce to get to right) The not so great: Definitely had a bit of a language barrier at this restaurant (which barely happens to us since my wife speaks some Spanish) We got there around 6 and they seemed mostly intent on closing before 7 Service wasn’t great and when they cashed us out they gave themselves a pretty generous tip while making themselves scarce to try to remedy Full Disclaimer: We walked from the Westin Regina and I was DRIPPING…the inside of this place didn’t cool me off any, so it definitely impacted my mood :-) Would probably go back, but it’s not top of our list given the limited menu and lackluster service.
Don’t threaten me with a good time. This right here……I have my favorite spots in Cancun and this place has taken over my desire to go anywhere else. Give me the yummyness, please and thank you. Simple and yet so tasty. Don’t cheat yourself, treat yourself. We outside!!!!
Otherwise known as The Caribbean Galleon, I can recommended this spot at the southern end of the hotel zone. Near mile marker 19.5 Please note there’s no road sign, so watch for the parking lot shown here on the north side of the road. I really enjoyed this thatched roof, lagoon-side restaurant. The menu is quite limited -as you’d expect-but what they do offer is authentic Mexican seafood at very reasonable prices. I ordered the breaded shrimp-as shown- a generous portion served with fiery hot habanero sauce, lime slices and mayonnaise. Delicious! I also ordered the house “specialty”, pescadillas -fish tacos- which were too greasy and plain for my taste. Only $25 pesos so I’d suggest increasing the price to allow for improving the item with the addition of fresh, tomatoe, onion and cilantro garnish other than just shredded fish. Overall a great place for a simple lunch or dinner. Be aware, it’s only open from 12-7pm.
Restaurantji Recommends
What a fun conclusion to a great trip! We have been at the Gr Solaris near here for 10 days, and just happened upon this place on google maps and decided to check it out for our last night here - what a fun authentic way to end our trip. I don’t believe they have electricity except for lights. They Cook over open wood burning fires! It’s right on the lagoon and just such a neat experience. We had the fish tacos and guacamole, both delicious. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area!
Trying to escape our resort crapy food we found this amazing place , busy of locals few tourist but Real Fresh Mexican Food
The first time we went we had a wonderful server, delicious ceviche, and an equally delicious breaded whitefish for my wife and so so garlic shrimp for me. No Pacifico, no guacamole, disappointing but a 4 overall. The second time we had one of the worst servers I have ever had anywhere, anytime, still no Pacifico or guacamole (and unlike the first night's server this clown didn't give a s**t) and a poorly grilled supposed "speciality" whole fish. We had to almost fight to get the check and get out - at best a 1+. This place is knonw as a restaurant favoured by locals, it is definitely rustic and very casual but it CAN be good, it just isn't always.
This was our favorite restaurant of our entire trip. The food and drinks were authentic and delicious and that says something because I am picky. I can stop craving the Achiote chicken.
Waited for an hour after asking for a check to get one. Food was decent but service lacked. Wouldn’t go again!!!
