Fred's | The best seafood in Cancun

This was our second dinner at Fred's. The tempura tuna bites and Caribbean ceviche were delicious! Our spicy margaritas were also great! We shared the Neptune Surf and Turf - shrimp, crab legs, octopus, lobster, ribeye steak, and veggies. It was a wonderful. I don't care for octopus, but my husband enjoyed it. The crab was delicious and the lobster was great too. We also enjoyed all the butter/garlic sauces that came with. Overall, we will definitely be back and would not hesitate to recommend this place to friends!

The service was excellent as the wait staff, Adilia and Mariano, couldn't have been nicer. They were professional and attentive throughout the dinner. The food is good for the price and everyone should try the corn with cream. It's a take on American cream corn with a twist. It was my favorite dish of the dinner. Also tried the coconut shrimp with a spicy pineapple sauce which was finished table side. It was a nice presentation. To finish off the meal, we had the crepe cake which was beautifully presented but had an unusual taste to the cake. Not sure what spice they used but it wasn't my favorite desert. Overall, for the price, it's not a bad restaurant to visit if you want to leave the resort for a meal elsewhere.

We had dinner for three of us at Fred's and they were very friendly. The menu is varied and there's lots of to choose from. We had the ceviche ( which is more than enough for x 2 from one portion tbh) and it was a bit heavy handed. A ceviche should be a thinly sliced delicacy but this is more like a large plate of raw fish. We also had calamari (tasty), the deep fried coconut shrimp (flamed in brandy at the table and sitting on a shell of pineapple) which was a bit over the top and heavy on the stomach and buttered crab presented with some crab crackers which was hard work. Overall, a so-so meal but a lot of fun due to the staff although he got a little grumpy when I altered the 20% service he'd added to the bill. I pay a flat 10% around the world unless it's exceptional so don't get annoyed when customers refuse to pay an exorbitant service charge. Final thing: the restaurant has large TVs hanging off the wall showing MSL matches? During dinner? At a supposedly swanky restaurant? Why would you do that? It's not good for the atmosphere.

I cannot say enough about the service, food and atmosphere of this restaurant!!! I come here each and every time I'm in cancun... Hands down one of my all time favorite restaurants! The music the DJs play is incredible! The food is delicious! The staff is wonderful!

Our evening at Fred's was mediocre to good. Service was excessive and ok; dropped bottle of wine at table forgot soft drink. Food was tasty but slight flaws everywhere. Ceviche was tasty bit fish used was fishy all other components delicious. My wife's Green rice dish was incredibly oily and scallops overdone. My Paella was tasty but clams and mussels cooked beyond edible. Great atmosphere.

i went for dinner and ordered the salmon i went for a birthday hoping for an outstanding meal and was disappointed. they did comp the meal and brought complimentary champagne and sorbet but I left hungry.

Amazing customer service and delicious food. We had no idea Fred's had a kids club with a babysitter but we actually got to sit and enjoy our meal together, which was priceless for us. We would 100% go back to Fred's if we visit Cancun again. Also Edwin the manager was super nice and accommodating.

I have been going to Fred's for 6 years. Always great. This time around it was very bad. Food was not cooked as requested and it came out raw. The bread was not as fresh as in the past and the portion sizes have been reduced while prices have gone up. Lastly, the outside deck of the restaurant smells like an open sewer which is not good when you are trying to enjoy an expensive meal. I will give them one more shot at improving but if they don't I will say they have lost a valued customer.

It was a beautiful dining experience. Sadly the lobster was way over cooked so we ate very little of it. Two of us got the stone crab. Were told it was already cracked so no work on our part. But sadly that was bad information we had to work. But they were delicious once we got them out of the shell. The oysters were great along with the clam chowder. The bread is a WOW. WE LOVED THE DJ music and our servers were incredibly attentive.

Highly recommend making time to visit. Each plate ordered was fresh and tasted incredible. So much so that we had to visit a second time! Claudia and Lisandro provided excellent service throughout. Both were very attentive, friendly, and accommodating.

Excelente cocina y atención del personal !!! En especial de Juan Carlos, sugerencias exquisitas tanto del menú como de platillos del Chef... Por supuesto que estamos invitados a regresar !!! Ademas es importante mencionar la excelente atención de la niñera en la zona de niños !!
