The food is terrible, dry fish, food without joke and poorly plated. It took almost 2 hours to bring the order, the terminal was not useful to pay! A disaster, the only thing that can be saved is the attention of the waiters but without the support of the kitchen, a very bad experience! Completely empty, we spent 3 hours waiting to be served and only one more table was occupied.

Really cool place to eat. It’s like you’re in a luxury restaurant in the jungle! It’s got such a good atmosphere and all the staff were very friendly and helpful! The food is delicious, we wanted to eat more but our stomachs were so full! Overall, I definitely recommend.

We were wanting a luxurious dining experience without the stuffy or stiff environment and La Punta delivered without exception! The service was friendly and the food was amazing. My husband had the tomahawk steak, of which I enjoyed a bite. It was cooked perfectly, abounded with flavor and melted in my mouth! For myself, I was beyond happy with the tiger shrimp. The meat was succulent and sweet, a perfect portion and left me wanting more. I also need to mention that my vodka martini with a twist was one of the best I've had. Of course, the ambiance was incredible, with a warm breeze blowing across us as we sat under the dim lights while breathing in the salty air. Thank you La Punta Grill for a great night!
Seriously overrated. Veg was cold and tasteless, mashed were cold, the chicken was good. For $300 US for two, included two glasses of “house” Chardonnay, me’s thinks it was overpriced food for what it was and pretentious. Service was a real hit and miss. What should have been beyond excellent, simply was not. No bueno.
Wheelchair accessibility: Terrible! It’s NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE at all. Just awful.

Only place at the resort to eat lunch. The food and service were excellent, but again compared to the USA expensive.

In the limited menu food, the Menu is more aimed at foreigners, it is still an excellent Restaurant. Excellent

The service was excellent, the steak was great, our other food was OK, and the atmosphere was good but slightly ruined by swarms of mosquitoes. I would recommend double checking your bill, but it was minor, see below. All of the staff were very friendly, spoke great English, Spanish, and Spanglish. They were very attentive and I can't say that we have any complaints about the service directly. They did charge us twice for a bottle of water, which we noticed and just took out of the tip, and it was a fairly small amount so not a big deal, but also not the sort of "mistake" that a restaurant of this level should be making. The steak we had was delicious, perhaps a little salty, but very good none the less. We also got a soup that was very interesting in its presentation (see video) and my partner enjoyed it, but it did not compliment the steak at all and I found it to be a bit too ambitious with its attempt at complexity. We also ordered some fries, which turned out to not be steak fries, as I had thought they would be in what appears to mostly be a steak house and were instead an attempt to recreate McDonald's fries, which should never be your goal for fries IMO.The atmosphere was very nice and had a very positive feel to it. Sort of an Asian/Mayan hybrid theme. The seats were a bit much, stuffed with too many pillows that made it a bit awkward to sit, but once rid of the excess pillows it was not a problem. Our table was wobbly and made a crashing noise each time it shifted, but wasn't a huge problem, just again, slightly not at the level that the restaurant was trying to put itself at. Ultimately the big downside on the atmosphere was the swarms of mosquitoes, which sadly there is little they could have really done about due to the design of the restaurant, but it did negatively impact our enjoyment of it and we walked away with several bites.
Dietary restrictions: They asked about food allergies 4 times in the first 5 minutes of us being there, to which we answered about a wheat sensitivity. So they were aware of it, but failed to apparently share that with any of the other staff so we got asked several times. Better many times than not at all.

Our experience at Restaurant La Punta, located inside the Hotel Nizuc Resort and Spa, was very pleasant. The restaurant, in addition to having a spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea, serves delicious food and has the unmatched service that you can only find in Mexico. The place is very beautiful and we were able to enjoy our dinner while admiring the beautiful view. We ordered a grilled lobster, guacamole, fish fillet, French fries, rice and for dessert a trio of sorbets. All the products they use are very fresh and do not need seasoning. Highly recommended.
