Gym was pretty decent. Spa was nice - we appreciated the cold plunge given how hot we were all the time. Paddle tennis court was fun although they didn’t have the correct balls and the rackets were falling apart. Cons: food was sub-par overall. Dessert options were horrible. The hallways felt like a hurricane shelter. The group games are only available at the scheduled times and they keep that schedule very tight. Tennis courts in need of repair. Air conditioning was either broken or set so low that you were just sweating all the time in the common areas and restaurants. The dress code seems excessive- men required to wear pants and buttons in a hot Mexican resort? Nah. Basic well class liquor that felt very weak. Gift shop ridiculously overpriced - $20 for eye drops? I’ll keep my dry eyes. The vibe pulling in when you arrive is odd - felt off. The lobby is dark. The excellence club area and bar is dark and uninviting. We were able to relax as a couple and enjoy time just the two of us, which was the goal. But I wouldn’t go back or recommend it to others.

For at least the 14th time, our family birthday vacation was at an Excellence property. We prefer Finest Excellence Club. We are older adults with mobility problems. We rent a scooter and everything works out just fine.

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday here and had the most wonderful time. From the moment we arrived all went well the check in was easy and informative and we were taken to our room within 10 minutes of arrival. The rooms are spacious, clean, cool and provide comfort and a lot of space. There is a lot of wardrobe space and a well-stocked mini bar and alcohol provided. We stayed in block 4 room 4203. The reason I am giving the room number is so the hotel knows what wonderful room service we received from housekeeping and the mini bar, the service was faultless and we always had a beautifully cleaned room and fresh towels when needed. I won’t go into detail about the food we ate or what we did, but what you get from this resort is amazing treatment from all the hotel staff. They are welcoming, friendly and go out of their way to help make your stay memorable. The bar staff in the golden bar are brilliant and keep the cocktails and drinks coming, all the bars have friendly cheerful staff, and the pool staff are very attentive and make sure you have drinks. Look out for Esteban he works so hard delivering drinks to you. All the staff in the restaurants are amazing. We loved Freddie in Dukes, we loved all the staff and their friendliness and welcoming ways. This hotel stands out because the staff here make it a happy place, they are credit to the hotel. We loved all the dining options here and we tried them all. You will find your own favourite bar and place to eat. We had room service which was excellent. Book your Hibatchi chef in advance, this is a great evening. This hotel is purposely made for you to relax and enjoy your holiday. We hardly left the resort; we really didn’t want to. The beach is kept immaculate and so beautiful. The entertainment is low key, it’s not in your face like some hotels and daytime entertainment is there for you to choose. Evening entertainment is good and finishes no later than midnight . The silent disco was brilliant and the shows were great. Don’t come here is you like lively resorts, the hotel have the entertainment just right, no foam parties or late night discos here. We found that there was not a lot entertainment for our 10 year old the hotel lacked facilities for older children and catered more for younger children. There were no actual teen facilities going on during the day that interested our daughter, whereas previous hotels we have visited had great facilities both indoor and outdoor. The activities didn’t interest her that’s not to say there were no activities going on. However, she had the best time in the pools, made friends and enjoyed the kids shows in the evening. We found it lacked a certain edge, but once in the vibe this resort delivered the most beautiful relaxing holiday with amazing food, staff, restaurants, bars and rooms, it was a beautiful holiday made enjoyable by the lovely Mexican staff. I would definitely recommend this resort for a relaxed The restaurants have plenty of options, just the right amount of choice on the menu. We waited once for a reservation during our 2 weeks stay but that was not a problem at all. My favourite restaurant was Surf and Turf amazing staff and my family loved Brass. The beach bar was perfect for lunch. We had a beautiful holiday made enjoyable by the lovely Mexican staff. Wonderful resort with beautiful grounds and amazing staff. Excellent food and very clean. Entertainment was lacking and could use an overhaul. Margarita was the best staff memeber. He was so amazing and went above and beyond. Overall all a wonderful place to be.

Resort was amazing. Every meal was delicious and the service was perfect. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Never had long wait for food or drinks. Lots of beach and pool chairs available. Special shout out to Fernando, Carlos, Angel, Victor and Flor. They made the entire trip special. They hustled all day long. The spa was also amazing. Definitely do the Hydro Therapy. Jamara was great.

Yep I borrowed the phrase from Seinfeld One of the things that I most enjoy about Finest Playa Mujeres is waking up early, grabbing my cup of coffee and heading to the patio. I’ve started my day now I get to hear the sounds of paradise and watch as the day starts for everyone else. The first thing you will hear is the sound of the sea as the surf splashes against the gorgeous sands of the excellent beach. This mesmerizing sound is followed quickly by the sounds of the many birds as they seemingly greet one another and start their never ending quest for the best meal. It is then that you first take in pure beauty of the resort. The tall palms sway melodically seemingly in concert with the sounds of the surf. The early morning sun glistens against the palms, the flowering plants, the abundance of smartly trimmed greenery. Once you take in these sights and sounds the real action starts. It is time for the PEOPLE. The hard working people in green uniforms are the maintenance folks and they seem to be always there from the early morn until sunset. The stunning beauty of this resort is due in a great deal to these folks. The grounds are just beautiful. Next you will see the many folks in the tall white hats and black uniforms pushing their carts full of the days ingredients for the many dining options. These are the many truly gifted chefs of the Finest. Along with these chefs will be the bar folks in white attire bringing their carts full of the days liquid refreshments. If you are in the right viewing area you might notice groups of these folks in a team meeting near one of the many bars. Great team concepts are employed at the Finest. Next you will see the resort guests venturing out for their day. Maybe two little ones skipping down a path as they excitedly head towards the kids pool area. Mom and dad traveling at a much slower pace with the baby stroller leading the way. Then the gym folks, dressed the part, towel over the shoulders, heading towards the workout facilities. Maybe you will see a newly married couple strolling to breakfast or maybe a happy group of folks excitedly hurrying down a path as they anticipate their wedding party. The sights and sounds of the early morning are not to be missed nor forgotten. OK enough of that, let me address what most of you really want to hear. Hope you didn’t fall asleep. This resort is definitely family friendly. There are many facilities geared towards families and in particular children. Pools, water parks, games, etc. Lots for the activities for the little ones. Luis is the head of the Entertainment staff and his crew of talented and gifted personnel ensure incomparable care is provided to our little ones. Julio is one of his top talents and you will undoubtedly see these folks with their huge smiles and light green uniforms everywhere. OK now for those of you still awake—the restaurants! Just about anything you might want. Steaks, seafood, Italian, Mexican, French, Asian and did I mention steaks! First I must tell you that Dommo is our favorite. You must be an Excellence Club guest but OMG it is worth it! Chef Oscar is the absolute best at his trade. The 45oz Tomahawk Steak is unbelievable. The lamb chops are also superb. Lots of other dishes as well. Nancy is the Captain deluxe and if you are served by Julieta you are indeed in for great service. The Brass Steakhouse is fantastic as well for steaks. The Argentinian BBQ is friggin great. However if you prefer other selected steak cuts they have it all. Captain Viktor ensures a great dining experience. Servers Edwin and Andres are great and can provide a complete detailed description of every dish. Insieme is the Italian restaurant and is located under the Sky Bar and above the main pool. Excellent selection. Lamb Ossobuco is wonderful. Tons of other offerings which includes a variety of pizzas as well. I highly recommend an evening there as the view is stunning. They are open for lunch as well with various entertainment nearby. Dukes is just on the other end of the Italian restaurant and offers great lobster as well as steak
