Restaurant El Cejas (El Cejas)

I was going with my service dog to eat because we are visiting and they recommended the place to us, but the service was the worst. They sent us to the back of the place, trying to prevent them from seeing my dog, which was totally unnecessary, since the back was where most of the people were. At the exit it was easier and the waiter knew it, but the woman who was there was the one who seemed like she didn't want us there. A bad experience, coming as a tourist.

Very friendly staff
My husband and his daughter ordered salmon and they loved it. At first I was reluctant because it had tamarind sauce. In the end, they liked it.
My dish was filet a la diabla, I liked it, although I would have preferred more chipotle flavor, but the filet was very fresh and I liked that
Very delicious fries.
Ultimately recommended.

The food is delicious, only that there are people who seem angry and seem elitist, as I am a simple mortal and not a foreigner. Well, only the one who was at the entrance seemed angry or rude, Mr. Alberto, I hope it was just a bad day but it is the first impression they give in terms of service.

I discovered this restaurant in 1999 and what I loved was its shrimp broth. That was what made me a frequent customer and I always recommended this place to everyone who asked where to eat. I went to eat a few days ago (July 2024) and the food is no longer the same. The shrimp broth does not have the flavor, consistency or preparation as it did in a long time. They add some small shrimp and two large shrimp that were obviously cooked at different times. The taste of the two large shrimps was very unpleasant. The broth was very “watery”, with barely any flavor. I don't know if the quality has gone down since the original owner is gone...what I know is that I'm not going back.

Delicious everything you order. Uo I ordered a crab chilpachole and some sea bass fillets. A fish ceviche. .everything excellent!!

The ceviche 100 points, very good and if they serve seafood as it should, the broth was acceptable, it needed something. Very good staff. They accept cards and that's the best.

The worst experience in Cancun, the food has no seasoning, the water is stale and the prices are high compared to other restaurants elsewhere.
It had been recommended to me but don't visit it, there are better places to eat for the same price or less outside the market.
