All day buffet in the hotel
Buffet style restaurant where there’s a little bit of everything. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You check in at the front with your room number and then get seated. They can move tables around to accommodate large parties (as they do for the 17 of us). Indoor seating. For breakfast, they go around asking if you’d like any coffee or water, all the other drinks are self-service. They have green juice too, which is obviously very important. The food was good and they have several stations where you can order items to be freshly made (like the omelette Sat breakfast or the fish at dinner (the actual station varies by day).
Spice is a buffet restaurant that has managed to adapt to Covid. Although you can approach the buffet tables, you must wear a mask. Then, members of their very helpful staff put the food you want on your plate. The menu changes daily and the wait staff not only bring you your drinks in record time, they clear the plates, answer your questions, and are extremely friendly and helpful. In particular, Gisele was outstanding! Can't wait to return next year.

I know I am late to write this review... life am I right?? But this place was very impressive! It is inside the Hyatt Zilara and we stayed here from 12/27- 1/2. This is a buffet-style place and they have a phenomenal breakfast/brunch that can offer any kind of food you could possibly want! They have wonderful mimosas, great fruits, and a great omelet station. There are so many more stations but those are the ones that stuck out to me after a month of not being there! We also had our New Year's Eve dinner there and they had a phenomenal selection! I had prime rib, chicken cordon bleu, and salmon with mashed potatoes! They also had a great dessert station! On New Year's Eve, it was buffet-style as well. Besides the food, the staff was so sweet! The people that I remember the most after a month are Pedro Jimenez, Fabian, and Martin. We all got to talking and they are such hard workers for their family and it was so great to get to know them! I hate experiences where the waiters treat u just as a diner, but I have never been anywhere in Mexico where they were rude or not relatable! The workers are very funny, caring, and kind! Overall, I highly recommend staying at the Hyatt Zilara since it is an all-inclusive adults hotel because you definitely get the value that you pay in the room rate and it is not a party hotel at all(at least while I was there it was not). Spices is also a great place for breakfast before you go out and they have a great dinner selection as well! Overall, 10/10!!
I visited Spices restaurant twice in Hyatt Zilara while I stayed and the best thing about it was the staff for sure. Abel & Martin waited on our table during our visit for breakfast and they were so kind while helping us! They checked in on what we needed continuously & made sure we enjoyed our breakfast with mimosas. Truly a great experience at this restaurant & a great team, would recommend!
We visited the Spice restaurant at the Excellence Riviera Cancun on August 8, 2021 and were more than pleased! The food was excellent and the service was FANTASTIC. Juan Des Rios and Catalina were extremely attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. They made the experience top-notch. If you’re at this resort, make sure you eat here! You will not be disappointed. We will be back to this resort in the future and I hope to have the pleasure of Juan and Catalina serving us again.
