Basto's is off the beaten path - and that's what attracted us to it. Go here to get away from the craziness of the north end. The owner's son was our waiter and took care of us. We told them to make us anything they wanted to. Delicious. Great little place - with great people. Go here, you'll be glad you did!

If you're looking for touristy, big fancy restaurants, go north.

This is a homey cozy restaurant with outstanding food. The moment we entered we knew the food was gonna be authentic and great.

Fish tikinxic was recommended to me and it was amazing. I've had some amazing food in Mexico City and Yucatan, but this was probably the best fish I had. I also had a tamarindo fresco. Great service and great serving size. You really can't go wrong with restaurant.

Very authentic, very kind service, amazing food and very good decent prices, and high quality products, chips/nachos are given freely . when we ordered a lemonade he made it on the spot with LIMES ONLY and he filled for each a pitcher that provided more than 3 glasses . I recommend the quesadillas and enchiladas

The chef and bartender are the BOMB. The food and drinks were so good! Very good chile relleno, potato relleno, fajitas and horchata. Super fresh blended drinks. Good prices. This place is a gem and I highly recommend going to eat here.

I’ve been in Mexico for over 3 weeks now and this was easily my top 3 meals of the trip! The chicken fajitas (fajas) were soooo good, especially served with homemade tortillas! Highly recommend :)

Great selection. Fresh Seafood to Steaks. All served with a distinctly Mexican touch. Margaritas prepared from scratch. Family operated.

So hospitable, so authentic! The food was more enjoyable than any we've tried on the island. Portions were generous, and the prices were unexpectedly normal, and not inflated like most other places. Will definitely be going back.I recommend the lime soup and the chicken Caesar salad.

Cute little restaurant with super tasty food. We tried their soup, chicken mole enchiladas, steak and Huarache (stuffed tortilla). Everything was perfect.

The look of the place isn't fancy, but it makes up for it in taste and food quantity. People were very friendly. Really glad we went there.

The food was great! However, the service wasn’t. They took almost an hour to prepare our order.
