“Very unique and inventive dishes using the freshest ingredients on the island. The staff was amazing as was the ambiance. I can't wait to visit again on my next trip to Isla Mujeres.”
“Best staff on the island and the food is incredible. We ate here every day for breakfast/brunch except 2 during our 9 days and regretted the 2 days we didn't. Sit at a table Mariel covers - she is AWESOME.”
“We absolutely loved this place. We had 5 adults and 2 kids. The upper patio provides a great atmosphere both during daytime and evening hours. The drinks were delicious and every burger we tried was fantastic. I personally recommend the house speciality burger with a fried egg added to it. We will gladly visit again!”
“I am a pizza lover and I would dare to say that they are one of the best I have ever tried, quality ingredients and they are very juicy when you feel them on your palate, I give them 10 out of 10”
“Excellent dining experience: napkins, tablecloths, beautiful live music, helpful staff, totally special menu options that are different from the other restaurants on Hidalgo. My minion steak and mashed potatoes with veggies was superb. I have also tried the Chicken Parm and tuna, and LOVE the grilled pineapple marguritas. The whole family even raved about Javi's rice. Our evening was enhanced by a Mexican dance troupe that made it a special time. Thanks, Javi!”

“Pro tip. Stick with the local favorites. We ordered the lobster and the conch and they were flavored well they were way over done. However the other foods we got were excellent. We had a table of 6.”
“Impeccable service. Best ambience on the island. The food is a cut above. Don’t let the menus online fool you, the dishes are the best kind of fancy without being pretentious.”
“Amazing food, staff is friendly and live music. Ate 2 nights in a row. Had snapper for catch of the day which was amazing, loved my garlic octopus. Teenager had fettuccine which was excellent as well. Will definitely be a regular place on trips here. Also the price is super reasonable.”

“No photos to share but only because we couldn’t be bothered to stop and take them! Best meal out of the week!We texted the WhatsApp number for reservations for 3 on a Wednesday evening, and got a great table outside beside a fan. The ambiance is stunning, calm and quiet with a breeze through the trees. We ordered a bottle of white wine to start, with the Greek tapas. So good! Best olives ever. With fresh feta, a roasted pepper dip, tzatziki sauce, and pita.Next my husband got chicken skewers, my girlfriend got steak kebabs, and I got moussaki (like a Mediterranean lasagna). Sooo good, I would order my dish a million more times. Maybe I’ll try to make it at home.Go! You won’t regret it. Nice change of pace from Mexican food.”
“Had dinner here twice on our girls trip and each time was great. Highly recommend the lobster bisque, was absolutely mouth watering! The shrimp fajitas are perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection as well as the beans that come with it. A must go to for dinner while you’re on the island.”
“Get the medium mixed ceviche it's a nice combination of shrimp fish and octopus. We got the coconut shrimp also a little heavy on the batter. I might try something different if I go again.”
“I have been eyeing this place for awhile and finally had the chance to go. It did not disappoint. I brought my family (12 people) and we had a blast. My kids loved the pools and we had a great time in the ocean. The food came out altogether and was delicious! The drinks were flowing and there is nothing I can say to fault this place for. It definitely made our day on the island extremely enjoyable!”
“Gestern waren wir dort essen und hatten eine wunderbare Bedienung ( jorge) ein super kompetenter Mann der sich bei seinem Job wirklich aller Mühe gegeben hat , nach einem kleinen zwischen Fall hat er sich wirklich mega ins Zeug gelegt und wieder zufrieden zu stellen , preisleistungs Verhältnis war auch okay .. würde wieder hin gehen .. kann das Steak empfehlen”
“Please note: the restaurant now goes by the name La Casa del Tikinxic. It is located at Playa Lancheros. After seeing the restaurant featured in a Spanish language travel video, we decided to check it out for lunch. It was quiet in early December, so we had our choice of tables. The Tikinxic fish (whole fish split in half and baked with spices) is the specialty. Absolutely delicious! One order (around $50 USD) is big enough for two. The view overlooking the quiet bay to the west of Isla Mujeres is also nice. If time permits, you can also visit a lovely tropical plant nursery next door.”
“We were fortunate enough to pass this restaurant on a quick trip to Isla Mujeres. We were walking past, and it advertised lobster tacos. They don't have lobster tacos, but the lobster mushrooms and shrimp and chicken rice were amazing. The chips with beans and salsa are really good. The place sits on the beach and we watched the sunset. Authentic, good food, and Coco Loco was definitely good! We will go back every time we visit the island.”
“Truly the spot to be for fresh seafoodTook the family there and 5 adults 2 kids and it was fantastic.Food was flavorful and freshAllan the waiter from Argentina ?? was fantastic and honest. He advised that the kids portions were big and suggested to order 1 less dish. It would be too much otherwise.Must go to if you visit Isla Mujeres it is walking distance from the ferry ride look for their fine.Vegetarian options: Salsa Alfredo fettuccine excellentKid-friendliness: Totally kid friendly ootionFish and chips go to for kids”
“As you sip your apéritif you can ponder your day overlooking the ocean. The house margarita is an absolute must. Delicioso! The main was a shrimp fettuccine in capers and garlic sauce. The dish was exquisite. The service is A+, every server is in great spirits. From the moment you step foot in the entrance to the departure you are taken care of with utmost respect and courtesy. The atmosphere is relaxed and filled with authentic Italian music. This is truly an outstanding dinning experience. I completely recommend this eatery. Given the incredible food and service probably best to make reservations. Solo traveller's are equally welcomed and not made to sit at the bar.Thank you for making my dinner experience one of the best on Isla Mujeres.”

Takeout Restaurants
“We got some Chile Rellenos to go and they were a flavor explosion but not overly spicy. The owners offer quick and friendly service in this little gem of a grill in the La Gloria neighborhood. Was truly amazed about their great selection and very reasonable prices. A definite must stop for expats and locals alike.”

“Excellent, friendly service and great food. The tacos were predictably solid and the Hawaiian pizza was even a hit. The prices were reasonable. Only negative was the state of the bathroom, which needed some attention.”
“I have been dining here for over 10 years now, multiple times a year. Every meal I have had has been spot on, the flavor and presentation never ceases to amaze me. The staff is incredible, and the owner, Sergio is so passionate about his food and it shows! If you are planning on dining at Limon, just make sure you make reservations!”
“We had some of the antojitos mexicanos, and a couple of drinks. They're a little slow because they are made to order but they're quite good, the price is also very good for the island.”
“Wonderful seafood, servive is simple but all is very good for a fair price. It is on a beach with sand as a floor. Very nice!!Dietary restrictions: Many option just go and see. Grilled with no oil and just lemon,.nice rice and refried beans! And many other!Kid-friendliness: A lot to choose but not macaroni and cheese!Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible!”
“The place is okay, a small shack bar with an off the side kitchen, the food service is very slow. $55 USD seafood plate was great for the price. The only complaint is that the menu stated it came with lobster but was served Sea Snail instead (still a culinary delicacy) but is typically very hard to chew. The octopus on the plate was the highlight of this dish. I can still savor the delicious flavor.Parking: Drive down the alley, and you will find the parking entrance to the right”
“Ordered shrimp tacos, shrimp ceviche and fish filet. The tacos were good could use some spices, ceviche was perfect and fish filet was an amazing texture but lacking spices as well. Overall atmosphere is amazing and the service on spot.Dietary restrictions: Clarification with pork and alcohol being separate for halal option”
“If you have to go to Isla Mujeres... Above all, don't miss this incredible address, everything is good and perfect... the pizzas (even if it's not the typical dish) they are just incredible and homemade ? the cocktails are to fall to the ground and the service too!!A huge THANK YOU to Arthur who is just incredible...we'll be back?️”
“The BEST ceviche I've ever, ever, EVER eaten! The service was excellent and the food was to die for! Cool, place off the beaten path with a great vibe. If you are on Isla Mujeres just go!”
“Mar Bella is on Isla Mujeres near Amazon Beach Club. It's an outdoor venue that serves the freshest mouth watering seafood you can find. It is on the pricier side. We paid $445USD for six people, that includes tip. We had the tacos gobernato. Mui delisioso! The servers were great and very attentive. You are steps from the ocean so the view is self explanatory.”
“Without a doubt it is the place with the best atmosphere to go out at night. It was full, there was live music with a lot of fun (the Cuban band was by far the best), people were dancing inside and outside the place, the drinks were pretty delicious. 100% recommended!!”
“We LOVE Isla Burger! We dined here 2 times during our 2 short days because it’s simply the best! We enjoyed getting to know Antonio and chatting with the owner Gustavo! Do yourself a favor and go grab the BEST skinny margarita on the island and the perfect burger with truffle fries!”
“Very good food in a beautiful, refined restaurant. Our server was friendly and attentive. Pricing is reasonable. From the sushi (recommend the locally caught grouper/whitefish nigiri!) to the ramen to the miso soup, they know what they’re doing.Restaurant was very quiet when we were there on a Wednesday night - if you’re on the fence, go!! Support this quality business!”
“We loved this restaurant. It’s tucked away in the upper floor of a neighborhood where locals live. The food is thoughtfully made and served. I wish we would have found this place sooner in our stay on the island, we would have gone twice. The coconut shrimp came with some of the best mashed potatoes I’ve ever tasted. The guacamole was excellent! All the margaritas are made with mezcal, delicious and not too smoky. They do accept credit cards, and we tipped in cash.”

“This review is made with great pleasure and with the sole purpose of recommending Al Natural so that everyone can enjoy its preparations and flavors, which, it should be noted, are exquisite. We just ate some chicken tacos, nachos with meat, burritos and natural juices there. To say that at first bite you feel the freshness of each ingredient, the lightness of its flavors is simply an experience that is fully appreciated with the helpfulness and kindness of the staff. We are Chileans recommending places for all those who wish to live a rich experience in Isla Mujeres at a very good price. It should be noted that each order is made on the spot. The atmosphere is very pleasant and familiar, the presentation of dishes is well done and therefore everything is very appetizing to look at. We will definitely go back for other dishes during our stay on the Island. Just ask the place to maintain its standards in flavor, quality and prices. See you soon.GratefulPatrick and CamilaVegetarian options: He has themKid-friendliness: Completely adequate, quiet place, pleasant atmosphereWheelchair accessibility: There are tables outside the premises and with space for people in wheelchairs and other capacities to sit.”
“Some of the best food on the island. I was disappointed that I ordered a beer because it took up too much space in my tummy that should have been left for food. Truly artists with their food.Parking: Not a busy street so there was ample parkingKid-friendliness: Family owned”
“Bruce, the owner was a wonderful host. Their coffee is from their own family farm in Chiapis. Their croissants and other pastries were delicious! Dine in or to go. The rich coffee smell is intoxicating. A must visit on Isla!”
“We came by the reviews and it's really good! Tasty, homemade food, generous portions and fair prices. The atmosphere is beautiful and the music is very good! We passed by in the morning and there was even live jazz, we wanted to go back for breakfast. I finally had good enchilhadas here in Mexico. We ordered the mixta and it was incredible. I highly recommend it.”
“Very delicious but expensive pizza!Went with my husband 2 days ago & had a pizza & 2 Diet Pepsi’s & our bill was $63 USD. It was absolutely delicious though and a good size pizza! Wish they sold pizza by the slice because our hotel doesn’t have a microwave so we could not reheat our leftovers. Unless they do sell by the slice and I didn’t notice!”
“Some very good and delicious tacos, we ordered the flank steak and the tempura shrimp and they were very good, a good portion, the beer was very cold and the red eye is well prepared, I would like to highlight the service, which was excellent.”
“By recommendation of a couple who have been visiting for 30 years, we tried Abuelos. BEST meal of our week on Isla. My husband ate tacos everywhere we went and declared Abuelos’ tacos the best. The guacamole was so fresh and flavorful - loved it as well as the fish tacos.* and you can watch the fresh ingredients being artfully put together in the open kitchen on the second level open air dining area.”
“Service was incredible! Everyone was helpful with suggestions, courteous and prompt. Food was traditional and delicious! We had pastor tacos, huaraches and gorditos all were superb! Server made excellent recommendations.Everyone was so happy in the kitchen! I thanked the chefs for a wonderful dinner. Mucho garcias for a perfect Mexican meal!”
“Best burgers on the island by far! From the homemade fries and in-house buns to the delicious flavor packed Pattie’s, this place is overall a 10/10! The staff are so kind and the prices are unbeatable. We came 2 days in a row for lunch and will definitely be coming back! Much love from Texas!”
“Very good food! We fell in love with the authentic Mexican cuisine. The ambience is lovely and the service is great. The prices are absolutely fair. We would love to come back and can recommend this restaurant!”
“This was a short walk in the downtown area from our residence. The service and food was excellent. I really liked the pastor tacos. The bonus is they are very reasonably priced.”
“Amazing place to get some drinks. The bartender is very friendly and the cocktails are delicious. The environment is a bit rough, definitely not fancy or modern, but it gives the place a unique personality.”
“Super tasty, authentic food. Everything is prepared by hand, including the tacos and salbutes. Located right in the Mercado. There is a lot of hustle and bustle because the locals also get their breakfast/lunch here. Speaks for the food. Really great. And very, very cheap.”
“Where do I start. We were going to Green Verde down the street and it had closed early so we walked to KKC and wow we were not disappointed. Amazing food, lovely people and prices you just cannot get your head around in a good way. We went for 2 Pork Empanadas, 4 chicken and pork corn tacos which came to $170 pesos which is mind boggling' cheap. Tips will go a massive long way for these guys and well worth it. If you pass here, please go ?”
“Some food was great. Some was just above alright. Overall, this restaurant was definitely worth a stop. Drinks were great, and the nachos are definitely amazing. The rest of the dishes were good too, but the nachos... the nachos....”

“Absolutely delicious. I live here so I've been to just about everything. This place just rebuilt and reopened a few months back and man did they do it right. Great service and incredible food. Def a must do if you're hungry and passing by. The shrimp ceviche IMO is the best on the island. Enjoy.”
“Chez Isabelle is the French-style restaurant at the Excellence Playa Mujeres resort. The place is very chic and we are served like kings. The onion soup is by far the most spectacular I have eaten with its soufflé pastry! The only small point to improve is that it is very dark in the restaurant.”
“Best cheap and tasty Mexican food. Sopes and quesadillas were incredible with chorizo and chicken tinga. Fresh made tortillas - so good. Get an agua fresca or horchata next door at La Michoacana to go with it.”
“Wonderful seafood, servive is simple but all is very good for a fair price. It is on a beach with sand as a floor. Very nice!!Dietary restrictions: Many option just go and see. “First place we tried on the island and holy s*** did they set a high bar. The lady requested the calamari appetizer which apparently comes with potato wedges.I'm not one to eat calamari, which she said was excellent, but I can attest to the potato wedges being some of the best I've ever tried. She had the regular nachos as an entree. Being full from the octopus and potato wedges, she ate 3 and said she was full. I can not blame her as the complimentary chips and the stolen potato wedges also curbed my appetite. I had the cheese/bacon stuffed shrimp. What a delight. It was cheese stuffed in the shrimp with bacon wrapped around. We ate there yesterday and I've recommended it to at least 4 people. The place is quite nice with an upper level to see the going's on of the street. You want to sit up there. The street is quite the scene after 7:00 on a Saturday.”
“Absolutely incredible food! Fish Tacos, chicken quesadillas, the pepper! The French toast! We went multiple times! Great service, great price! Absolutely must go!”
