“We tried the special of the day which consisted of three small lobsters with vegetables and coconut rice, all very good, cheap and accompanied by live music which every day featured different musicians with different styles. A nice little local place and away from the bustle of places full of Americans!“

“My wife and I have been to Isla Mujeres and Cancun many times over the past 35 years and have eaten some of what we consider the best food anywhere. That brings me to yesterday (Halloween) and this review. We ate at Amigos on Hidalgo and in my opinion I had the best fresh grouper filet I think I’ve ever eaten. My wife had the suiza enchiladas (chicken) and her comments were the same as mine. This is now my go to for fresh fish whenever we’re on the island. Thanks to Map Chicks for recommending this place. We’ve probably walked by this establishment a hundred times over the years and never stopped in which I now regret because we’ve been missing some excellent food and service.“

“Miguel and his musician Ernesto made us feel at home. Best place we went to in ALL of Mexico. Best food accompanied with billiards. Miguel danced with us and gave us sharpies to write our names on the walls. He dedicated a song named after me on his smart tv while we played billiards and pool! Miguel cared about us more than the business we could give as he covered for us when we ran out of pesos. Miguel. “The 2 for 1 drinks brought us in but the flavors kept us ordering more! The mojitos were large, full of flavor and at a great price! The guac and fish tacos were flavorful too! I wish more people knew about this gem so thus this review! Maybe if it had more colorful decor people would come in??? Idk. It was a great spot!“

“Without a doubt it is the place with the best atmosphere to go out at night. It was full, there was live music with a lot of fun (the Cuban band was by far the best), people were dancing inside and outside the place, the drinks were pretty delicious. 100% recommended!!“

“The place is okay, a small shack bar with an off the side kitchen, the food service is very slow. $55 USD seafood plate was great for the price. The only complaint is that the menu stated it came with lobster but was served Sea Snail instead (still a culinary delicacy) but is typically very hard to chew. The octopus on the plate was the highlight of this dish. I can still savor the delicious flavor.

“Go to Fredy's, get the pork chops ? This was the only meal I didn't take a picture of because we were enjoying the food so much and Fredy is so funny to talk with. He mentioned he is retiring in Feb after 30 years, so get it while you can!“

“We arrived before the live group started, as it started at 11:30 pm, they closed at 2:30 am, the service of the girl waitress was very good, but there were no hamburgers which was what I was looking for, because of this the girl gave us onion rings.

I ordered boneless and fries, which were very good... But it took them about 40 minutes to serve us, the place being empty... the prices are very affordable.“

“Antonio was very entertaining- great tricks to keep a fun environment during COVID. Had TVs with live sports and descent menu. I even requested a certain type of tequila and they didn't have it, so he said wait 5 min, went to a local store and bought a bottle to bring back to the restaurant and serve us!“

“My friend and I decided to dine here for the 1st time. The staff immediately attended to us pulled out our chairs and made us feel very welcome. I ordered a bottle of Corona but I was given a can. I explained that I don't like cans of beer and I will take a mineral water instead. One of the staff, or it may have been the manager asked if I would still like a bottle of corona I said yes and he went down the street and came back with a bottle of Corona for me. There are so many dishes to choose from on the menu I couldn't decide what to have so I opened the reviews to take a look at pictures and recommendations. We saw the reviews were not great so we decided to just play it safe and order chicken wings and a portion of fries to share from the appetizer menu and if we were still hungry we would eat somewhere else. The food arrived and it was DELICIOUS ?The wings were crispy and tasty and the fries were good too so we decided to order a main course which was the meat sharing platter. It was HUGE and phenomenal. The steak was tender the chicken and pork were cooked perfectly the chirozo was one of the best I've tasted and the vegetables were so delicious. It was way too much to finish after our starter so they boxed it up for us putting the meats and vegetables all in different sections of the box. This restaurant went above and beyond and the food way exceeded my expectations.I live on the island and will definitely be returning often.“
