Excellent ceviche.
Disregard the negative reviews; I read them, and most are from tourists upset that there was no 2 for 1 happy hour.

On a busy touristic street with merchants stopping by but the food and drinks were very good and fairly priced. I has the garlic grilled octopus which was cooked perfectly and flavorful!

Stopped in for a drink and we were about to order our second when my wife received some sad news over the phone and began to cry. We needed a moment to talk but the waiter (in a cowboy hat) insisted that we leave even though we hadn't finished out drinks. I asked him for some napkins for my why and he refused. I really don't understand the complete lack of sympathy for someone who is suffering. We just needed a moment and the waiter just wanted us gone.

I would have put 4 stars as the chaparrito waiter with the glasses that attended us at first was excellent, but then the older waiter who seemed to be the boss took over and it was a total disaster. The place was empty when we sat down at 6pm, in an hour it was full, we were still drinking and eating and he wanted to kick us out, so other people would sit at our table... When I refused him to take our plates he shouted "se urge". It means "it's urgent". If there is a limited time to sit down at his restaurant, he should warn the customers. Such an unpleasant and insulting experience... The food was mediocre by the way.

Had an amazing time at Fredy’s! My friend and I are doing “dry January” and fredy was kind enough to go across the street and get us n/a beers. Food was great and a good price for a touristy street. Gracias!

Was tricked by the waiter for 2 for 1 drinks. They have different menus with the same prices, probably one for tourists and one for locals? Rated 2 for atmosphere because you can enjoy the violinist playing for the restaurant opposite between 6pm to 9pm.

We ate at Fredy’s two years ago and loved our pork chops. We just ate there last night. Hoping for the same experience. We were somewhat disappointed. Fredy must’ve been in a bad mood. He really was not pleasant upon our arrival. We each ordered the pork chop. This comes with vegetables and potatoes. No other options with the pork chops. The pork chops were tough to eat. They were also dry and gristly. Fredy did not really acknowledge our dissatisfaction. We had a glass of sangria, that was on the tart side so we had to add some more simple syrup to each of our glasses. We also had a tomato and cucumber salad, that was OK. The music was very loud. We originally sat outside, and then it started to drizzle so we had to come indoors. Even though Fredy guaranteed us it was not going to rain, and gave us a little bit of lip about wanting to move inside. Based on this experience, I will probably not go back to Freddy’s on our next trip to Isla Mujeres. I always do my best to write positive reviews, but I also need to share with the TripAdvisor community when something is not right.
The chicken breast meal was good but the pork chop was undercooked. We asked to cook the pork some more and it still was not fully cooked.

Very good place, to eat and have a Michelada and cheap $350 per person with a drink, compared to the other places that are twice as expensive, this place is really worth it.

Fredy’s is an Isla classic that we have to go to every trip. Fredy is adorable and hilarious once you get to know him. His food is not fancy but it is delicious and a good value (especially for Hidalgo).
Great prices for an island! Tasty tacos and really nice employees!

We decided to try Fredy's on our recent trip to Isla. We ate here before about 10 years ago and decided to give it a try. I ordered the " World Famous Pork chop" The wife ordered a grouper fillet. The food came out and the pork chop was mostly fat and gristle on one end and the wifes grouper looked to be about 2 ounces of fish! We noticed during our whole week on Isla we never saw ANYBODY eating at Fredy's. Now we know why! We are not picky people at all but for what we paid it felt like we got ripped off! The wife's grouper was especially embarrassing! We even had to ask for salt and pepper! i ordered a Fanta and Fredy comes out with a bottle so small i thought it was a prank! LOL! The bottle could not have been more the 4 ounces! There are many many other places to eat on Isla and recommend you try those places out first. I NEVER give bad reviews but maybe this will push Fredy into looking at his menu and prices and rethink some things.
