Very nice owner, tasty noodles and comparatively very low prices. Looks inconspicuous but worth it! Only cash payment possible
This is one of our 'Go To' restaurants on the island. Wonderful food, rustic atmosphere, good service. I wish they had a liquor license. We made do with mineral water. We have now been back for a second time this trip. I had the Mediterranean Pasta (again) because they do it so well. My wife had the Cacio E Pepe the first time and Spaghetti Carbonara the second time. BTW, the owner/chef is Italian, so he knows how to cook spaghetti to perfection. Both meals started with bruschetta. For a treat, we finished with Affogato, which is espresso with a dollop of ice cream. The owner explained that 'affogto' means 'drowning' as in the ice cream is drowning in espresso. We enjoyed the cultural background, too. The total came to $710 pesos.

I was surprised at the quality of food after reading a 4.5 star review. The nachos had been microwaved and rendered them nearly inedible. The owner took them away and didn’t charge me for them. He recommended me the veggie burrito (I’m not veggie - the nachos had chicken on them). The burrito consisted of rice beans and some scattered vegetables. Overall quite a rubbish meal.
It looks like an unremarkable eatery, but the Italian chef cooks himself and is very tasty! The prices are reasonable, the menu includes seafood, pizza, pasta, and Mexican food!
Exceptional food, private and very pretty location. The owner Armando is fantastic and it's really nice to listen to his stories while he cooks. You eat really good Italian cuisine (said by two Italians) and also has Mexican cuisine. All of this, among other things, at much lower prices than any restaurant in Isla Mujeres. If you are in the neighborhood where absolutely pass by !!!
My veg taco was basically just fried onions n a bit of lettuce. Had to ask for the avocado that apparently comes with it. No flavor.N tortilla was just commercial junk..same price as many places n horrendous quality.
Nice helpful own. Very reasonable prices. One of the best pastor dishes I've ever had so all in all a great place and a must try!
Unexpectedly good place, delicious seasoning, delicious coffee and the person who served us so warm and friendly that made the experience incredible.I highly recommend it and look forward to returning on a visit to Isla Mujeres.
Unexpectedly best place ,that beat the expectations and reasonable prices !! Finally , not overpriced and really good food. Ordered pizzas and Mediterranean spaghetti ?
Horrible food. Nice owner. They served us a fried cheese sandwich made of a couple of white Bimbo breads.... not really italian, just junk. Carbonara was a cream sauce.
Restaurantji Recommends
We loved the food! It tasted all home made, and that is hard to fin in a restaurant! Friendly service and feels like home away from home :) 5 stars!!
Loved the Penne White cream Bolognese.. have eaten couple of times here and pasta is very recommendable and affordable.
Mexican food was the best we’ve ever had
I sm never writing bad reciews, but this experiance makes me mad. Bad, ignorant service. Ordered food has been microweave prepared, meat in burrito was old and cheawy, tasteless. Fried sandwich was burnt, and after complaint it was burnt again. Completly differen then in menu description. Bad choice, bad choice... and expencive one.
Incredible! True Italian cuisine in Isla Mujeres. This hosteria is managed by two very nice and approachable Italian guys. Paola does Italian cuisine but is also very good at Mexican cuisine. His handmade pizzas are magnificent! His pasta (huge and highly seasoned dishes) is special. A real Hosteria.Italiana. I recommend the Carbonara, try to believe!!
