Absolute tourist trap, I would give 0 stars if I could! We rented 2 loungers for 300 pesos and ordered tacos. When we wanted to pay, the unfriendly waiter wrote 420 pesos instead of 240 pesos on a piece of paper (which was supposed to be the bill), we pointed this out to him and he became loud and even more unfriendly! He didn't want to get the menu (which said 240 pesos) anymore! So we had to pay 180 pesos more! We paid with cash, he came back 3 minutes later and said that we gave him 100 pesos too little and we still have to pay it! We paid a total of over 280 pesos more!!!!! A reasonable discussion could not take place because he and his colleagues spoke poor English! I would never come here again or simply not consume anything there!

Buffet food is left out in open air. Barely heated by candles under trays. Open for insects and pigeons to pick at. Everyone in our tour group that ate anything besides tortilla chips and fruit from the buffet had food poisoning from mild to extreme with a fever. Witnessed staff moving meat from tray that had been sitting out for 2 hours into a “new” “fresh” tray and then serving to another group after us. I do not even want to know how long the meat we were served had been sitting out and if any birds got into it. Absolutely unsafe and ridiculous. Side note the washrooms have 6 stalls total for men and women and one of the ladies stalls flushed properly. Unacceptable overall.

Ate lunch during a guided boat trip to the island. The food ok but not outstanding, a bit messy and somewhat slow service. The place is magical:

IXI beach is very well located on the north beach of Isla Mujeres. The environment is beautiful, clean and convenient for getting to the island.The place is in front of a very quiet beach where you spent a little more than 2 hours enjoying the sea.

Nice place in Isla Mujeres, but it lacks some atmosphere to make the stay of its visitors more pleasant. The food is average, susceptible to improvement, they could expand their menu to make their buffet menu more attractive.

Came to the restaurant as part of our excursion. Food was decent-we were hungry. Beach is beautiful and lounge chairs are plentiful. Recommend doing to go carts for 2 hours.

We arrived at the beach at around 1pm. Upon arriving at IXI restaurant glanced at the buffet. The selection of food is limited. My opinion of the restaurant is they are more interested on a quick grab of the US dollars than provide a courteous service. When the server asked us for our drink order I asked for Ginger Ale, his response is it is a premium drink not included in the package therefore I have to pay extra. I chose to order sprite. After lunch a 13 year old in my group ordered ice cream his response is it is a premium not included in the package. This time I chose to pay $3US for two scoops. We left the restaurant and headed to the beach where there was very limited sunlounger with a time limit of 90 minutes any thing after $10.00US.We decided to to pay for the bed since it accommodate all of us. The person who is charging for the bed and sunlounger informed us he only take cash. Since my wife was in the washroom I told him he has to wait till she comes to get paid. His response was either pay right now or leave the bed, I refused to comply and paid him once my wife arrived. We had an amazing boat trip across the ocean ruined by greedy and terrible service by IXI restaurant. I hate to give 1 star to any establishment but after what I experienced if I don't, I would be disingenuous.

Can't say I was overly impressed. Stopped here on a snorkeling tour we were on that included Isla mujeres and the directed us here for our buffet lunch. The food was okay and the drinks were just okay as well. We tipped appropriately but we're anxious to go anywhere else. Funny part was the super aggressive people in town drove us back to the beach and we weren't allowed to sit down here without paying $25. No thanks.
