Avoid Tourist Traps and eat the local food.
Not only was it 10x cheaper than the recommended places from hotels and resorts... the food was phenomenal. THIS is the spirit of Isla Mujeres on a plate, so do yourself a favor and stray off the beaten path and experience Mexico as you should with real Mexican cuisine.

Best tacos on the island. Family owned business and local pricing. I recommend the longaniza and the arrachera tacos, however everything they have is good. We’ve been to Isla a couple times and always make sure to come back here!

Good loc food
Thank you so much!
Pastor, arrachera and chicken tacos were all amazing. Best tacos I’ve had so far. Some with delicious salsa and garnish. Do try it!
We arrived late and were worried there wouldn’t be anything open but this place was and it was so good! Seems to be family run. No frills. Just good tacos and sweet staff ?

Step away from the tourist area, come here, eat and pay like a local.
We come here once a week. This place is under the radar but way worth it.
Family owned, great service, great food. Right on the corner. They ran out of Coke Zero while I was eating my tacos. The owner sent a young boy out to the store. When he returned, they quickly restocked their fridge for me with Coke Zeros. I gave them a smile, a big thank you and a good tip.
They can also make vegetarian "loaded" tacos. My wife and I can eat here in peace with both of us being able to order off the menu.
Vegetarian options: They will make to order Veggie Quesadillas.
Parking: Located on the corner. Walk, bike, scooter, golf cart accessible.
Kid-friendliness: Family Atmosphere.

When traveling we like to eat off the beaten path to find authentic, local foods. Taqueria Aguirre came highly recommended by the local islanders for their tripe tacos. Of course they had many options including steak and chicken. It was wonderful! The flavors of the meat were great, the corn tortillas were fresh and not overpowering, and we loved the way they grilled the meats right in front of us. Plus the horchata was super fresh and packed with cinnamon. And how about 20 pesos per taco. Do yourself a favor and ditch the tourist hotspots.

Great place for cheap good food. Nachos are huge!
Probably the best tortas on the island. The meat is awesome and super seasoned, the prices are normal local prices.
Great tacos! Friendly service! We will be repeat customers.
I recommend it!!!
