“One of the best dining experiences of my life (no exaggeration). My wife and I - celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary - had been on the island for several nights and had struck out dining-wise for three nights in a row. On our fourth and final night - and on a whim - we found Sunset Grill and were treated to an enchanting evening of superb food, service and atmosphere. The proprietors showed their love of the island and food in their gracious hospitality and sumptuous menu.“

“Had delicious coconut french toast with chicken tacos, nice place. For breakfast brunch and lunch.

Can also sit upstairs with a bit of a view. Good and fast service.

Parking: Just park for free on the street“

“Time of visit: beginning of March 2024.Very good place for breakfast and lunch.Every time we came, there were a lot of visitors. This results in less waiting. However, the delicious food and excellent juices make up for it.Suggestion: a choice of scrambled eggs and/or scrambled eggs with all possible additions, for breakfast, and sopa de lima, as a starter for lunch.Prices very reasonable.Enjoy the flavors!“

“If I could give a 10 I would. Pizza is the best we've ever had, my boys loved it. Food is fantastic, drinks were great too. Owner is very tentative to customers and also passers on the street, an all round gent. There's also a sneaky crab living there ?“

“So good! Absolutely enormous tacos literally the biggest I’ve ever seen in my life (the fish taco was literally an entire fillet of fish) and soooo filling. Couldn’t even finish 3! We recommend the carnitas, pescado del día y los locos are the best!

Pro tip - if you go at happy hour (3 tacos & 1 margarita for 300 pesos) MAKE SURE YOU SPECIFY that you want that deal! The margarita that comes with the happy hour is much smaller, we got stung a bit with the bill at the end as we didn’t realise or specify that what we wanted was the happy hour deal and were brought our food plus regular sized (enormous) margaritas. But that was our fault :)

The complimentary 2 churros donuts at the end were also so great and such a nice touch. Muchas gracias!

“North Garden is simply an awesome place. A very relaxing atmosphere. Food and presentation is top notch. They just opened grill garden a block down the street. Looking forward to trying that next time. The group picture I attached -- the owner is in the middle -- very friendly.“

“Very friendly people and delicious food. We ate fried fish and natural lemonade. The only recommendation would be that they should let it be known that the soups are not available when they open. We'll be back for the soup!!

“We had a nice dinner. The drinks were good. The lobster bisque and sea food soup were wonderful. Grouper as good as I’ve had on Isla. Waiter was very friendly and attentive. More food than we could eat in nice, relaxed atmosphere

“Was soll man sagen hier wird sich sehr bemüht das man glücklich ist. Die beiden netten Bedienungen haben einen sehr guten Service gemacht und haben auch Bede merklich viel Spaß an ihrer Arbeit. Die Tacos waren sehr lecker und das Dessert was man hier liest und gratis bekommt konnte sich auch sehen lassen. Würde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.“

“We dined in for Javi’s chef’s table experience and it was phenomenal! The dishes were absolutely amazing. There was not a thing I did not find to be delectable! Javi not only explained his dishes he also shared stories and songs with us, along with his dad. Once again we had a memorable experience dining at Javi’s Cantina and Restaurant.“

“This is a must! Chef and every staff member were the best. Food is delicious and presentation is TOP notch! Chef cooked our fresh caught fish one night … and WOW was it all amazingly good. Such time and talent went into every dish. The menu looked so good we had to go back a second time. The tomahawk and fresh pasta were excellent! The beautiful atmosphere tops it all off!“

“Incredibly delicious and authentic food away from the tourist traps near the beach. Prices are also extremely fair compared to the rest of the price levels on the island. We will definitely come back.

“Went here on a Weds evening for our anniversary. There were only 2 other couples in the place! Food was beyond amazing. I consider myself an expert eater of seafood. I ate the BEST lobster dish I have ever eaten here (Lobster Sergio Style). Here it is 3 weeks later and 1700 miles away, I find myself sitting here drooling when I think about it. Staff/Sergio was awesome. NOTHING to say negative.“

“I have been travelling Mexico for 3 weeks and haven’t found many options for gluten free. Pizza Mike offer an amazing gluten free pizza and also deliver!!!!! The staff are very friendly and we ended up chatting to to them for a while. I would really recommend to anyone who is GF as this was such a bonus to our trip. Great staff, great food and would definitely return if back in Mexico! Order two nights in a row.

“The food was good, however, way over priced in my opinion, there was only 5 pieces of chicken in the sweet and sour chicken dinner. But the vegetables seemed fresh and the flavor was excellent. The service was great, nothing over the top but it was good.
My one suggestion, the music was way too loud and wasn’t the genre of music to fit the atmosphere of the restaurant.“

“The place is okay, a small shack bar with an off the side kitchen, the food service is very slow. $55 USD seafood plate was great for the price. The only complaint is that the menu stated it came with lobster but was served Sea Snail instead (still a culinary delicacy) but is typically very hard to chew. The octopus on the plate was the highlight of this dish. I can still savor the delicious flavor.

“Spectacular place! During my visit to the island I went several times, whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Price quality does not disappoint, you eat very well. Many options and fresh food and above all excellent service. Every person who tells me that they are going to Isla Mujeres I recommend that they go and try something here. Amazing location!“

“It is a nice restaurant on the seafront. We ordered a chicken and some shrimp, the portions are not large but well prepared. It has a nice view and a dock. The attention of our waiter Jesus, kind and with a good sense of humor. Since the restaurant was empty, they moved me and my husband to a table by the sea. It was the touch. Recommended“
