Ebersain Vazquez and Rebeca Lopez are the best. Cant wait to come back to to Barceló!!! Had a great time with my friend. Always recommend the palace! The bar tenders were very good and I couldn’t recommend a better trip. Find Ebersain in the lobby bar and you will be happy!

They should hire more people because it’s a big hotel and need to pay more attention on people having accidents and have more wheelchairs, provide more towels and body lotion on the rooms, accommodate big families close.

We stayed for a week with a range of ages from 4 to 45. We found plenty of things to meet everyone’s needs and expectations. Loved taking kids to a La carte restaurants and they were treated like they belonged there. Kids loved the pirate water park, magic show, and Michael Jackson show. Adults loved snorkeling with turtles in front of the lifeguard station and lots of yummy drinks. I highly recommend this resort and the ease of accessing all of the other resorts on the Barcelo property! Hard to get to visit anything outside of resort, everything is 15-30 minute drive away.

We were looking forward to a family trip, but it was not what we expected. The rooms cannot exceed 5 people. We are a family of 6. We got 2 rooms and asked for them to be connected( we have small children). They gave us rooms close to each other, not connected. This forced us to split up the parents so we could be with our kids. The pools were great, but you had to wake up very early and pretty much claim a spot, because everything with some shade gets taken. The food was ok. Unfortunately they did not have any space for restaurant reservations. We tried to book this as soon as we arrived and all the slots were already taken. But you’re unable to reserve ahead of time. It was very disappointing. We were forced to dine at the buffets. Rooms were clean however, the hot water did not work in our building for more than half a day on one of our days. After being in the pool the kids wanted to wash off the chlorine but no hot water. Air conditioner worked great, which was a plus in mid July! Staff was friendly. I was surprised to find out that room service is not included. My husband liked to wake up to coffee and he was forced to wait until they opened the buffet to get coffee in the mornings. Room service is available at an extra cost. ( only buffets and dinner restaurant reservations are included). The resort is huge and very pretty but extremely overpriced. Stores inside are ridiculously overpriced. Example- small bag of chips- $5-7. Eye drops $31. (USD) We have stayed at many Cancun resorts. While the property is nice. It does not include many of the things that make it nice. (everything is extra). Our family will not be staying here again. We prefer a truly all inclusive experience. With just as nice beach and pools. It was just ok, there are better resorts that provide quality a experience.

Barcelo Maya Palace offered a solid family vacation experience at a good price. My family, consisting of myself, a single mom and two teens have been to several Mexican resorts including Beloved, Iberostar, Hard Rock, Palladium, Grand Sirenis, Fairmont Myakoba plus Vidanta time share and a few others in Cancun/PV. We have returned to Barcelo total of three times. Here is why. First, this is a moderate price resort. Five days AI is less than $2500, not $5-6k like the higher end places. Keeping that in mind... First the cons: No waitstaff at the beach or pool. I really like that type of service, which of course comes at a price. Instead, we had to go to the swim up bars/throw on a t-shirt and go to the beach restaurants. No big deal. Signage lacking. This is a big place I have been to three times and I still couldn't find the buffet at Mayan Beach where we set up our things one day in time to get breakfast. There should be signs EVERYWHERE! Annoying! Food was just adequate. My kids like fine dining and even the ala cart places were not great. But we're from Houston which is a huge foodie town. Buffets were just OK, nothing really hot... But did we always find something/enough to eat? Of course. Check-in took an hour...sigh. Pros: The cove the Barcelo complex is in gets less seaweed. Yes, you may have to step over a swath of seaweed before entering the water but it is not bad. Some of the aforementioned places have so much seaweed you can smell it even from the pools. Ocean-lovely. We like that we can snorkel from shore. We saw sea turtles, sting rays and many and colorful large and small fish with just pool goggles. Without having to spend extra time/money on an excursion. Plus you can see your feet in the water when it is chest deep. Nice! Plus you don't need water shoes if you enter in front of the life guard station. Pools-huge and with fun water features like foot and shoulder massaging areas. Big enough for teens to throw footballs. Rooms- large, roomy, cold enough. Grounds-beautiful! Activities/entertainment-lots of it detailed in many other posts I recommend this place to any family looking for a relaxing few days without breaking the bank.

This was our first time at the resort and overall we were very pleased. The resort is HUGE and very beautiful. The grounds are well kept, staff really work hard at keeping it clean, and overall felt very safe there. We had no issues getting reservations at the specialty restaurants, and food was very good. Pool was beautiful and huge and never felt crowded. Entertainment by the pool was great and fun. Beach is a little rocky but overall clean compared to other resorts we’ve been to in Cancun. Few cons…other reviews stated there was a long check in and it’s not exaggerated. We waited about 15min in line, then when it was our turn the process took over 45min, not sure why. Be prepared for a lot of walking! We stayed in Oaxaca building which wasn’t close to anything, so walk to breakfast took about 10min. No food service on pool or beach, that really would have been nice to have. If you’re hungry you have to dry off and dress and go to one of the sit down buffets. Buffets we’re average, I would suggest walking to the other hotels and try other buffets for a little variety. Very difficult to get a reservation for any water activity. We tried everyday and there was always an excuse as to why we couldn’t. The shaded areas by the pool are always reserved in advance. People go super early and place towels and belongings under seats in the cabana and seats under the shade. If you go at 8am, everything is already taken, found that to be annoying as it should be available for all to enjoy.

This is a very large resort, fantastic location and a wonderful beach. We stayed at The Palace and had access to the other hotels in the resort. Good food and many options. Hotel rooms a little tired. Facilities good. Overall value for money not best, have stayed at better hotels where cost has been less. What we did find was that, possibly due to the scale, it did lack that personal touch and intimacy we have experienced on other holidays.

I have been to this property a few times now and I love the consistency. The service is great, everything is clean, food is good. We had a great time. I would highly suggest the specialty restaurants at night. The buffet is delicious, but eating there for lunch and a few dinners is a lot of the same food. The buffet did have freshly cooked seafood and meet (steak, pork, chicken, etc.) cooked to how you like them. Pool was amazing. Probably our favorite of all the resorts we have been too. If the pool bar is too busy, there are always servers walking around the pool take orders. It's easy to order from them, especially if you have a couple dollars to give them. Good alcohol...Absolute, Jack Daniels, Don Julio, etc. Dolphin experience was great. Spa was amazing, loved the hydrotherapy treatment we did prior. The sports bar at the Mall is a lot of fun, all day long. Love this property and planning to go back in December!

Very poorly managed property. Food quality is average at the buffet. The restaurants are slightly better IF YOU CAN GET A RESERVATION. We were unsuccessful and the concierge Alondra was very rude and unaccommodating. The entertainment is lacking, very little day time entertainment and the night time shows are of poor quality with repetitive karaoke nights. Room service is NOT included with the all inclusive package. My room was not cleaned well, my room refrigerator was broken, the toilet flush system was broken, my mattress was old and extremely uncomfortable. We were placed in the Oaxaca building which is extremely far from all amenities (1+ Miles).

I can't say enough positive things about the Brasserie a la carte. The service is fantastic and the food is delicious and well presented. Always a treat to Victor who provides amazing service. The ambiance in the French restaurant is excellent. Thanks for another wonderful experience.
