“Hands down some of the best sushi I’ve had in my life! Actually, I couldn’t name another sushi restaurant off the top of my head so it IS the best. Every time I come to Cozumel or talk about the island I tell everyone about this place. Every roll I’ve had is incredible so just choose what ingredients appeal to you - and try something new too! The Dragon Ball is a dish you’ll remember for life both because of how uniquely prepared and presented it is and the amazing mix of flavors. My mom loves cooking and proudly sent me pictures of her homemade version a few days after she went home. And I can’t remember ever even going to a sushi place with them as a kid…
To be totally honest I almost hesitate in posting this review because I don’t want to be fighting you for a table ? but the food is so good here I find myself dreaming of Cozumel when I’m hungry for sushi.“

“Nice place with a chill vibe, decent prices. One roll of sushi is enough for one person, especially if you get the one that’s “mixto grande”— that one is HUGE. The octopus is not good in the sushi but all the other ingredients were lovely. Would also recommend their combos for $210mx per person, I did not get one but they seem like a good deal!“

“Delicious food, extensive menu, you have to go early for lunch/dinner since sometimes the kitchen is saturated with home delivery orders, but the food is worth it and you can also order and pick up the food yourself, that is one of my favorite options.“

“One of the best ramens I have tried in all of Mexico, the meat and broths are a delight!!! I would return a thousand times, we tried 3 different ones and all three were delicious, you won't regret going!!
The takoyakis are super well prepared, a perfect starter to share!!!“

Aniley and Nico's service was fantastic, very attentive and pleasant!
The atmosphere of the place is super comfortable and romantic, a hidden place because I have been on the beach for 9 years and I had never seen it but without a doubt we will return to try many more dishes.
The background music made us have a wonderful dinner!
The appetizer board was delicious, the edamame woww!
But THE BEST FOR ME WAS THE "TOM KHA GAI" which is the coconut milk soup and uffff delicious!

“Honestly fantastic. The service is impeccable. The food is out of this world good. The first time my wife and I got the 2 for 1 sushi rolls and drinks. The second time we got poki bowls. The third time we got poki bowls again but also got the most delicious desert. The tempura cookies are amazing and the ice cream that is with them completely compliments them. Our servers name was Selene and she remembered what we ordered each time and what drinks we liked. We loved our experience and wish we lived here so we could eat here every day. Just be careful. Once you eat here once you may eat here for life and gain 500 pounds. It’s amazing. Honestamente fantástico. El servicio es impecable. La comida está fuera de este mundo bueno. La primera vez que mi esposa y yo obtuvimos los rollos de sushi y las bebidas 2 por 1. La segunda vez obtuvimos poki bowls. “A delight of a place. The most authentic Japanese beach food, you can find takoyaki, ramen, tea, fried chicken, etc. The place is air-conditioned and has a bar and tables. The service was pretty good and the place was clean. I highly recommend it.“

“The fire roll is the best roll I've had from many other places I've been to. The service was fantastic and so was the atmosphere. If you are looking for a delicious sushis place in Playa Del Carmen, this place is 101% recommended.
Vegetarian options: I didn't check it.
Dietary restrictions: They ask if you have allergies and there are also vegan/vegetarian dishes.
Parking: Don't know.
Kid-friendliness: There is a children's menu although it is not very extensive but they have it.
Wheelchair accessibility: There are many ramps which makes it very accessible for people with wheelchairs, strollers, etc.“

“The place is very nice, it is located in the center. They have vegan options, but they don't cook it separately, so if you're vegan, don't go there, the food hurt me (almost food poisoning).
The waiter didn't even know what the food was bringing.“

“One of my favorite places to eat. The staff here is fantastic! Ernesto was our server, and he is one of the best! We absolutely loved his personality and his attention to detail, and his natural ability to make you smile and laugh... we love this guy! Everything was delicious. I started off with the spring rolls... very delicious, for my main course, I ordered the chicken tandoori (I highly recommend) ... it was so good, so full of flavor, with out a doubt it is one of my all time favorite dishes! And then Ernesto recommended the mango creme brulee, and it was amazing. Definitely check this place out and request Ernesto as your server. You will not be disappointed,“

“Very good food, good service and a cool atmosphere with a beautiful view of the water. The chef and servers were funny.The cocktails were pretty bad, my old fashioned was wicked sweet. The strawberry margarita was like sweet cough syrup.Regardless, I would go back for the food and service, order a bottle of wine and skip the cocktails.“

“A very attractive option after going to the beach is this restaurant, the food is top quality, very fresh; The salmon sashimi and mixed yakimeshi were delicious! the variety of cocktails and excellent flavors! The bartender Sofia was very helpful and cordial. The staff in general are very friendly and support you with any questions you may have regarding the dishes. A 10/10 as an oriental food option in the center of Playa del Carmen!“

“Great food, served very nicely, every dish was worked on beautifully and the chef (who made the dish in front of us) spent time on every “nigiri” and “roll” with precision and he took his time to put quality in the dish. Excellent service!!! Amazing small place for a small group to come. I only wish more popularity for this place!!!“

“The food is good and the prices are very reasonable. On promotion days it seems to fill up and although upon arrival we were told that there was a waiting time of approximately 30 minutes, in less than 10 minutes we were already seated at a table. It was quick to take our order and drinks but unfortunately it took longer than 45 minutes to give us the food, this is presumed due to the number of people there were in the restaurant.“

“Dined at Umi twice during my stay - solid drinks, the food was fantastic, and the staff was even better. Deal with Diego as your waiter and you will not be disappointed. Great ambiance, solid food & beverage, even better staff - you won’t be disappointed. Make sure to order the beef gyoza, the fire roll, the ribeye roll, or the steak entree.“

“Food and service very good. The smiling and warm waiter.
The bad thing is that there is no bathroom, not even to wash your hands and of course you have to use the one in the square (which I have had to find without soap or with lines).“

“Fantastic place to enjoy a dinner! Carlos was our server, and the service could not have been better! We ordered 2 pizzas to share. One was a deep dish (45 minute cook time) and the other was a thin crust. Both were fantastic, but that deep dish. Wow! Definitely worth a repeat. And don't miss the peanut butter tequila. The perfect finish to your meal!“
