I was there this week in a large group on Tuesday for lunch. Our seating area was great, the lunch buffet and food ordered off the menu was good. I had the buffet, enjoyed the flavours of the dishes, especially the curry, the spicy veggie, & the dish with shrimp was tasty too. Everyone seemed to enjoy their selections! What stood out to me was our server. I’ve never seen anyone so attentive & proactive in their approach to looking after a large group.
I regretfully did not ask her name as she moved around refilling drinks, removing plates, providing bowls, extra napkins, leftover containers, etc.. All without even asking, or really having to anticipate anything. 🤩

$37 for a buffet that offer about 12 hot dishes (along with cold plates and desserts), which consist of white rice, ramen noodle, over-done fried chicken and heavily breaded chicken balls. Throw a coffee or drink in, along with a tip and you’re over $50 for a mediocre buffet… once was enough for me.

I was disappointed in the buffet especially as the vegetarian of the group. We were a group of 14 and I picked the buffet so that there was something for everyone. Enhancements would be a bread station, a vegetarian soup choice, more hot vegetables not mixed in with rice, veggie/ tofu dish, you could easily add pizza 1/2 pepperoni 1/2 cheese to accommodate kids, and much better dessert selection. This is not the Diplomat of 30 years ago. Staff was lovely, however.

I went last night to get some meals for my staff to say thank you after a busy Halloween day.
I told all my staff I will get you dinner form one of the best restaurants in Fredericton unfortunately the 9 meals I got was chicken Fried Rice and seafood fried rice all the meals parlay you can find chicken or seafood I paid $200 for just Rice
Service was great, but unfortunately, The Diplomat does not separate fish from their other foods, so it was difficult to find something on the menu. A restaurant of this size having ONE grill and ONE deep-fryer is absolutely outrageous. For the prices they charge, they absolutely are able to invest in equipment improvements. Do better, Diplomat.

Just ordered a take out dinner for 2. Walking into the restaurant should have been the 1st indication that the food would be disgusting. The smell of the restaurant was stomach turning. The gal at the front desk ( waitress)?? was absolutely rude. She suggested that we order extra egg rolls because nobody likes the wonton soup. Hmmmm! There is a posted sign at the front desk that says “ 20% off for seniors”. We asked for that & the gal said “ that does not apply to takeout”. We took the dinner for 2 home, dished it out & took a few bites of every repulsive dish. Neither one of us could even swallow the DRY rice, the chicken chow mein was basically onion, chicken & cabbage, beef ribs were like horse meat, chicken balls were DRY, even with the sauce on them. Best part of the meal was throwing it out!!! ALL OF IT! We called the manager to complain & she really didn’t care, just said she was sorry that we feel that way. Gotta be a better place to go!

Ordered takeout, client representative seemed very annoyed at me when making an order, I was very specific on details, and because I am a person with special needs it seemed to upset them. Food is amazing regardless, client representatives just need a bit more patience, I shouldn't feel guilty for ordering food and supporting their business.
