Chorong was incredible! And so personable. We had the jalepeno havarti sticks to start, the smash burger as the main and the espresso martini and beer, and were so HIGHLY impressed! Chorong is such a valuable asset!!

My husband and I have been going to the Pickle Jar for years. Tonight was our about tenth trip for dinner and it will be our last. We had made a reservation two weeks ago for Valentines Day. I received a confirmation email back and I thought we were set. We arrived at our time and to our surprise we were not on their reservation list.
They proceeded to "try to make space" for us. We were placed under the staircase, in plastic, outdoor patio furniture, and with a direct breeze from the lobbys front door, every time someone entered, we froze.
Every date we have ever gone there for, we sat in a warm, comfortable area, with a candlelight (these is small things that make a huge difference) , this is what we, of course, expected this time as well.
I had always ordered the Westside connection drink, which was removed from the menu a few years ago, but never had a problem requesting it since the removal. Tonight I was abruptly told no, and offered the special cocktail of the night, it was not what I asked for. In the menu it said "if you do not see the cocktail you like , please speak to your waitor". This was just a small issue but on top of the horrible location of our seats, and disorganization of the reservation, it was not a good look. The reason we were given was that they were too busy due to it being valentines day.
My husband ordered the smash burger, he did not enjoy it, soggy fries, also the cheese slices were not melted and appeared to be kraft slices.
All these things seem small, but when coupled together, it made for an unpleasant experience.
I do feel we did what we could by making the reservation far in advance, and due to their lack of organization, we suffered, especially with our seating. I had to put on my winter jacket for some time due to the cold breeze. We also were seated in front of the water filling station, so the foot traffic was high.
We have been customers for years, we have brought friends there, and even a friend from Ireland, as we told him he had to try the Pickle Jar.
We will not be going back. I apologize for making a bad review but I feel it is warranted.
Twice this week I’ve eaten at The Pickle Jar, one lunch and one supper. Everything was excellent- food, service, ambiance, and value for money! Great spot!

Just went for drinks and cocktails. It is way too overpriced. No atmosphere at all. The service was very slow.

Excellent service and delicious eats. We had breakfast and breakfast-ish dishes. The club sandwich with fried chicken brined in dill was served with pickled tomaotes, arugula, blue cheese and Sriracha mayo dressing if I remember correctly. It was very tasty. The croque madame was delicous as well.

I would like to share my recent experience at **Pickle Jar** in Fredericton. After going there twice, where I found the chicken wings to be some of the best I've ever had, I returned recently with high expectations. Unfortunately, my experience this time was very disappointing.
I ordered mussels which arrived cold, and the chicken wings, once excellent, were too greasy this time. I shared my dissatisfaction with the waitress, but she took no action to correct the situation. This left me truly dissatisfied with my dinner, and I have no intention of returning to this restaurant.
It's always disappointing to see a restaurant lose quality, especially when it previously provided such a good experience.

A Breakfast Date Adventure ?
The Pickle Jar in Fredericton seemed like the perfect spot for a cozy breakfast date. The atmosphere was charming, and the menu was filled with tempting options. I decided to try the Almond French Toast, hoping for a sweet and satisfying start to the day.
While the presentation was lovely, the flavor fell a bit flat. The almond notes were subtle, and the toast itself lacked a bit of that crispy-on-the-outside, fluffy-on-the-inside texture I crave.
Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a bad dish, just not the mind-blowing experience I was hoping for. The Pickle Jar has a lot of potential, and I'd be willing to give it another try, maybe exploring their savory options next time.
If you're looking for a cute breakfast spot with a varied menu, The Pickle Jar is worth a visit. Just manage your expectations when it comes to the Almond French Toast.

Breakfast food was delicious, service was excellent, and the decor and atmosphere were lovely. I would highly recommend the Pickle Jar.
Vegetarian options: Delicious vegetarian breakfast options including a tofu scramble which is fairly uncommon.

Waited ages to be seated for breakfast. Not busy eight customers seated. We moved forward past the please wait here sign to get noticed. One person serving. Shown to our seats then then there was a hive of activity at least 4 servers came out $5 for a Bagel!!
Server came round multiple times for coffee top up for my husband but no extra hot water offerd for my tea I had to ask for it
My husband literally put his knife down and she came over with the bill. I can understand if it was busy but it was not

I'm sorry to post a bad review everybody. But at the same time, everyone should know. I cant stand Karen's.
We went there as a group, waited about 40 mins before a server took our order, after that it took the better part of an hour to get our food. I ordered a fish and chips because it seemed to be one of the only real things on there that a regular Joe could order. Cause the place is a very veganesque/gluten free kinda joint. Not really fair to the average consumer.
The fish was thin as could be with a rubbery like texture. The batter was very flavourless and almost like sprinkled on by hand. If you're the type of person who doesn't want coleslaw or tartar sauce, do not order it because they spread it all out over your entire meal making it impossible to just eat what you want to.
Even the drink sucked. I ordered a Moosehead Draft. They brought me some kinda beer like substance with a fruity kind of flavour. It was a watered down "beer", cloudier than a draft beer would normally be, and it was room temperature. All in all i think my meal alone was upwards of $25. Didn't even get full off of it either.
Everything there sucked. Sorry guys. The view from the patio was about the only nice thing the pickle jar has to offer. So there's that.

Pricey breakfast but was savory. Had the Breakfast-Poutine with bacon and scrambled eggs (it would've been better if I ordered the eggs over-easy). The amount of gravy and cheese is seemingly a little too less for it to be called a poutine, however.
