First of all, food is amazing. Great food every time I come into the restaurant. Service is mediocre, sometimes great. The only problem that makes this restaurant a poor place to go is the fact that the managers are always loaded at the bar. Every time I’ve came to eat they’re always drinking at the bar. Poor management and just an utter embarrassment for everyone who visits and works for them.

Each bite is a burst of flavors that will leave you craving for more. But it's not just the food that makes this place outstanding. The service at Saint James Gate is truly the best. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. Man, what a gem. I had the new old fashion...omg....a solid drink. My wife loved her blackened fish and calamari. I had steak frites (10 oz striploin) awesome! Great sauce on the steak. We had Rachel as a server. What a great server. Super nice & attentive. My recommendation would be too check out the clothing store attached. We had a great time talking too the women who owns it. She has great clothing options at reasonable prices for the quality. I wish I could remember her name.

Although only our 2nd visit, we had invited our friends, who usually joins us at Sam Sneads for special occasions, in hopes of finding a new and better venue……this was not the case. The appetizers showed up (spinach dip & calamari) which was embarrassing; value wise, I’m not sure if the owners are trying to pay for the building expeditiously, but I can truly say the appetizers she brought out was tiny to say the least. The problem with this entire review is that we love the atmosphere there, even though it was only our 2nd visit, it’s very clean and open. The restaurant manager should discuss to their servers how important it is to NOT roll their eyes at their customers, everyone at the table noticed when it was such a simple fix, keeping in mind it was her error. We will not repeat our mistake! Although $300 (not including a tip) for 5 people might seem like nothing, it was for us, we’re the working class. BTW: drinks, appetizers, dinner and dessert was what was purchased, not just a burger and fries…….

We called at 8:10pm asking what time they closed and what time the kitchen closed, they assured us it would be 9pm and the person speaking said we could come right in for food. I personally don’t feel comfortable going to restaurants so close to their closing time however the host assured us she’d be more than happy to have us come in. As clearly stated by the host, they did last call for food at 9pm. We show up at 8:20pm, 10 minutes from when we called and are told they are not serving food anymore and that the kitchen has been closed. We drove 20 minutes to get there just to be told they won’t serve us. Will not be returning.

Fake fancy restaurant with overpriced mediocre food, apart from the appetizers which are really good.

Amazing drink menu, never had a bad meal. The steak is well seasoned, and I will never say no to their cheesecake. The Mac and cheese was so good. Weird area as it is a bit away from other places but the view of the golf course is beautiful.

My wife and I were treated to dinner by a friend on Saturday 12 Aug. I had the Seafood Risotto, which was supposed to include lobster, shrimp and scallops which sounded delicious. When my plate arrived it looked bland and so it tasted. It consisted ot three shrimp and scallops, but no sign of lobster. I called the next day and left a message. No return call was made.
