While I was paying, the server asked if the meal was good. I said yes, and then paused in my mind. I didn’t lie, it was good, but just.
Our family of 5 each had a meal, and we each had challenges. Normally it might seem trivial, but when you pay $100 for a meal these days, expectations for quality and service are higher - and reasonably so. So, for the sake of the next customer… a few details.
I know materials cost more now, so we anticipate costs to be up, we also expect quality to be up; I paid an additional $4 for a single piece of bacon and a single piece of processed cheese on my chicken crunch burger ($18.99 without cheese or bacon). The waitress explained that even though the burger is pictured in the menu with cheese, the cheese costs extra - I opted for it but was disappointed overall - though it wasn’t “bad” - you can see in the picture - it wasn’t especially inspiring. My daughter ordered the “special” poutine which was advertised at $16.99 and although we didn’t complain we were charged $17.99. The gravy was astonishingly salty. My wife found the fish portions in the fish and chips to be small, though she said they were tasty.
When customers are investing to afford a meal out, it needs to be worthy of that investment.

This local gem is the perfect place for a comforting meal. The food is delicious and clearly homemade with care. The servers were so friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. The restaurant itself is clean, cozy, and inviting. Highly recommend if you're looking for a place with great food and genuine hospitality!

Given the reviews, we were disappointed with the food quality. Most of the items were cooked from frozen. The clams were good, as was the baked potato. However, the scallops had little taste and the rest (vegies, fries) were cooked from frozen. Not fresh

December 20, 2024 I visited this establishment this evening, and my experience was deeply disappointing. The staff displayed outright discriminatory behavior. One of the workers asked me if I had enough money to pay for the food, which felt demeaning and offensive. It was clear that they prioritize their regular customers while showing little respect or care for new patrons. The service was rude and made me feel unwelcome and disgusted. I would not recommend this place based on how I was treated.

Group of 8 went for dinner. Most people ordered one of the ‘platter’ options for dinner. Consensus was food was good but not great (keeping in mind we’re not in peak seafood season at the moment). I ordered the maple salmon with a side of mashed potatoes. Salmon was very good and well seasoned, but a fairly small portion given the $26 price. Mashed potatoes and carrots were nothing special.
Group opinion was that the battered mushrooms appetizer was the star of the meal. A big portion of very well fried mushrooms served with a ranch (we think) sauce. Very crispy and tasty.
Staff were very friendly and officiant with drinks and bringing all our meals out at the same time. Will certainly visit again in the summer when it’s peak seafood season to see how everything is.

I would highly recommend Seaside Grill. The staff really made the visit! Super engaging, friendly, and full of personality. The food was great. I wished the fish tacos had a little more in them but I probably received a double portion of onion rings as my side. Everything was very tasty. I would definitely recommend this place!
