They have a unique space with pub fare. I got a gluten free burger and fries. The server, Sue was very knowledgeable and didn’t disappoint. You order at the window and they deliver to you.

End of season, so the blankets they provide came in handy. Good beer, amazing haddock chowder, and a yummy fish taco. Despite the chill, we enjoyed the meal and drinks

Great place to spend the evening, open late, often with live music

Nice open concept restaurant with friendly staff and great food and drinks. Not the best lobster roll ever but the Char Chowder is a must have and absolutely delicious. Worth a trip to St. Andrew's just for that.

Char & Chowder in downtown Saint Andrews is a fantastic spot! We loved the open concept and welcoming atmosphere, with plenty of seating to relax and enjoy. The live music added a great vibe, and it’s the perfect place to grab a drink while soaking in the charm of the town. A must-visit when in St. Andrews By The Sea.

Lovely setting with the open air space and the rafters overhead that provides coverage if it’s raining . I expected a menu to match the space, however its basic diner/restaurant menu at somewhat higher prices due to the setting.

Beautiful spot for a meal, the char burger and lobster roll were both delicious, and staff is friendly and inviting. I had a great experience and I’ll definitely stop by again next time I’m in St. Andrews.

We came to Char and Chowder on a recommendation and easily had the best chowder we'd ever tasted. It was excellent...I hope there is a chance for a return visit before we leave St. Andrews.

Lunch was quite good. The lobster roll and chowder were excellent. I definitely recommend having those. The service was fine. It's not really a service based restaurant in regards to wait staff. But, that's not an issue at all.

There are many restaurants in town. But, do yourself a favour, and have a lunch or dinner here.

Fun place when sunny. Good use of containers, nice draft beer list. Unfortunately, they were out of chowder, pork belly and lobster rolls aka 20% of a limited menu. So lower score for that. It is basically self serve, modified food truck atmosphere

Would I come back? Yes for a beer with friends and to check then menu. Sine you can’t reserve I may not add to my arsenal of must try in town. Can be risky

Overall good atmosphere
