Staff rude. Asking if all was ok “because you never left a tip”. Saying that loud enough for others to here. Food only mediocre. Service was poor.

Always a 10+
Don't ever hesitate to eat here. The chowder is always amazing. Husband had the lamb burger and it was absolutely delicious!!! I'm.not a fan of lamb myself and I wanted to go back the next day for it. I had the lobster sandwich and fish cakes and both were fantastic! No matter how full you are, please do not lrave without the strawberry/rhubarb crumble! The reason I put Saint Andrew's on my travel plans again

Everything here is delicious. Whenever my husband and I go to St. Andrew’s we have to come here. The food is fantastic and the service is excellent. Get the lobster sandwich (when in season), a lemonade and enjoy it outside on their lawn by the water. It’s heavenly! Leave room for the carrot cake! :)

Right on the waterfront. Friendly staff, good food, reasonable prices. What more could one ask for?

The restaurant is honestly one of the best hidden gems in St Andrews. The whole menu is done from scratch and is fresh aswell as seasonal the fish cakes have been on the menu since day 1

Vegetarian options: There were various vegetarian options and the soup of the day also was

Dietary restrictions: The owners and cooks are very accommodating of dietary requirements

The restaurant is in a lovely location. The food was good but the 1.25 hour wait for the food was unacceptable. The waiter must have blanked out as we asked a few times what was going on. If I was running the show here, I would have dealt with this situation in a different manner. Being told that "this has never happened before" is of no interest to me. Own the problem! Even the bill was slow in arriving. It ruined what was supposed to be an enjoyable evening.

It's probably one of the best fish cakes I have ever eaten. A true gem in St. Andrew's.

We loved our first visit to Niger Reef - the location is adorable and the staff very sweet and friendly. Definitely a place where the locals frequent. The fish cakes were great (and as someone allergic to crab, I loved that they were haddock!), and the fruit crumble dessert really delicious. We will be back!

A huge shout out to the Niger Reef and big thanks to Dave, Anthony, Ross and another member of the awesome team whose name I regrettably don’t know. They hosted 20 of us for a private event which was a huge hit with all. The apps, the beef Wellington and the key lime pie were outstanding as was the service. Thank you for such a memorable evening and for tolerating a wee bit of a noisy crowd 😉
