I am from Moncton. I visit Saint John once in a while. I have not eaten at this deluxe in a few years. We decided to stop in today. This is by far the very best meal we have ever had at any deluxe we’ve been to! The little girl they had on the cash was so polite. The fish and chips were amazing. I’m used to burnt fries at deluxe in Moncton but these were cooked to perfection. I’m not sure where you found these employees at but you better be paying them an awesome wage to keep them. I can only give 5 stars but this deluxe is 100/100 !!!!! Great job guys, keep it up!!!!

Couple of these joints exist in St John. Was recommended by a friend from Ottawa who travels through here. I had the seafood platter, to give everything a go. Clams and scallops were very good. Best scallops I've had since Digby, NS. The haddock was good, tasty, but a lot of dough. Glad I tried it, I'd go again. The fries look like frozen fries, but they are fresh cut and very well done!

We had the two piece fish & chips. The fish was extremely greasy and heavily breaded. Actual filets were too thin and the oil wasn't quite hot enough to get that lightly dried taste people love with good fish n chips. Fries were not hot like they should have been. Friendly helpful staff yet we didn't feel like sending food back b/c place more of a fast food feel

The dining area is very dated, with worn table tops and stationary seating, which makes it uncomfortable for larger patrons.
This is far from a healthy meal choice; however. The fish is thickly battered and greasy. The hand-cut fries are hit and miss. They are either cooked perfectly or full of black blemishes.
