Waffles in Albemarle, NC

“I’ve been visiting The Nook for years, and while the service is just as good as it’s ever been, it feels like the heart just isn’t in the food anymore.
My fiancé had their pecan waffle and bacon - asked for bacon extra crispy. Loved the waffle, but the bacon was still floppy. I had bacon, grits, and hashbrowns. The bacon was thick, floppy and hard to chew. Grits were really salty, and I didn’t finish them.
I usually come for “my usual”, which I didn’t get this time or for a waffle. I feel like no matter what you get on the menu, it should still hit, especially when they’re basic food items.
Overall, it’s a great little breakfast joint. It’s fast paced and very busy, so be prepared for that. The owner is very personable and friendly! She is definitely involved in her business. I recommend the Breakfast Nook and will definitely be back again!“
