We were staying at Hawksdene looking at a wedding venue. We’re originally from NY/NJ & are of Italian descent.
Now, we were not expecting much in the way of Italian food in Western NC, but were absolutely blown away at how great this food was as well as the service!
This place would ROCK in Brooklyn, thats how good it was!!!!

First off I want to say i completely recommend stopping here for lunch or dinner if you are passing through! Me and my father were traveling to The Tail of The Dragon with a group of friends from Florida and we had decided to go to Mariolinos instead of the Mexican restaurant down the street. And man I will tell you I was not expecting to have such high quality, super tasty and soul filling food up here in this small town! The wait time was near zero since it wasn't as busy when Me and my dad went in, the server was very responsive and kind, and the food we ordered was mind-blowingly good! I had ordered the Chicken Alfredo with mushrooms and I could not believe how good it was! The one thing you should always look for in an alfredo sauce is if it starts to separate after a while as you eat, and man.. it DID NOT separate at all!! The sauce clinged to the noodles perfectly, it was so flavorful and creamy, and the portion size was insanely generous! I basically was limping out because of how much food I had eaten in such a short amount of time! It was so good that I had to ask my dad for us to stop by again on the way down back to Florida! I will definitely make an effort to come back here when I pass through this area again!

Nice restaurant. Sadly both the food and the service were anywhere close to what I expected from an Italian restaurant. I had the veal marsala. The veal was not tender and the marsala was thin and watery looking with canned mushrooms. The portions were generous though and the bread was the highlight. The service wasn’t much better. There were three of us and I thought I clearly stated there were people in our party when they asked. However we were seated with only two settings and when they brought out the appetizer they only brought two plates. My daughter never received her salad with her meal. We were planning to order dessert but they never came by with either the check or to see if we would like anything else. Eventually we got up and stood by the register until one of the waiters came to ring us up. The bill seemed really high at over $30pp for one appetizer, three plates ranging from $18-$22, a soda and a tea. Won’t be eating at Mariolino’s again.

They were playing lounge music covers of popular songs from the 80s and 90s which for us was like a fun cherry on top of an exceptional experience.

Wow, this was some of, if not the best Italian food I’ve had.
The manager was on top of it. Service was great. The little Italy was excellent. I substituted my regular shrimp scampi noodles for the special pappardelle noodles and omg! It was awesome. Such flavor and great consistency.
The chicken parm was perfectly cooked and I just could go on and on.

If Olive Garden and Red Lobster had a baby restaurant with far superior food, this is that place. More proof that small towns have some of the most AMAZING food! Stay in Andrews, NC if for no other reason than to eat here...you will NOT be disappointed!

Great food, the veggies needed a bit more seasoning otherwise a 5, wow! Alfredo sauce was perfect, sticks to the pasta. Margarita was over sweet but wine bottle very reasonable. Bread to die for in house made. Affordable for sure. Definitely a hidden gem. Thank you.
Edit: we went back tonight, food still great, we all tried something different on the menu. The mushroom ravioli was well worth it. Service was less than average today.
