9/10 I have a soft spot for this place and will literally come back for just one dish.We came here on Lunar new year and the staff took care of us.I will only be reviewing this one food item as it is a must try. I have mentioned in other reviews that I am ancestrally from Sichuan. This dish gave me a taste of “home”.Spicy grilled Sichuan fish:9.5/10 - I rarely give food items anything above an 8, but in terms of flavour this place can be as good as genuine places in Sichuan (maybe depends on chef’s mood). This is the dish I come to and get my Sichuan cuisine fix. It is whole grilled fish soaked in Sichuan chillies and peppercorn broth. True Chinese style (with bone) and true authentic flavouring, it’s not actually very spicy compared to the true Chinese counterparts, but I can’t handle all that much spice (sad considering my heritage, I know) so this is good for me.How did I hear about this dish? A friend of mine from Chengdu (Sichuan) tried this restaurant and excitedly came to tell me this Sichuan fish is arguably better than many places in Sichuan. If there’s anything you should know, if a local who just came to the US comes and tells you their home dish actually tastes like home here, you better believe they’re not kidding. I had to personally vet this and I wholeheartedly agree. Tempted to give it a 10/10 given that this place is in NC, maybe I’ll come back and revise the score.

I took my family to dine in. No one came to wait or serve us. A Indian man from the kitchen had serve us due to the waitresses not wanting to serve us. This was the worst experience ever in my life and my husband and 14 year old daughter had to experience this as well. Overall the food was great and the man took very good care of us. ( he did offer a discount In which I refused and paid full price $92.00) let’s make a change for a change.

We were craving for some authentic schiuanese cuisine food for sometime now. We got our fix here. Food was fantastic. Got the szheuan Chilli fish , the fried chilli chicken(Their popular item) , eggplant in garlic sauce and the sliced potatoe dish..food had the right amount of flavour and kick to it. Overall a good experience. Will definitely repeat.

Ordered delivery on two different occasions and both were disappointing. Fried rice with vegetables and pad thai. Overly salty and not flavorful. Spring rolls were unusually small. Would not recommend.

First time here. Food was excellent!! Didn't realize that they prefer that you scan the barcode at the table to order. Once the nice hostess/waitress got us straight, we were all set for some delicious dining. Expect to spend around $100 for a family of four.
This place was amazing. All the staff was extremely friendly and the food was delicious and authentic. Reminded me of being in Taiwan again! We got to play the dice game and we won our meal for free, on the house.

2/2024 Review update:I just had to return and say that I lovvve Mr. Dumpling! Ever since finding it, it is my #1 go-to any time I’m craving Chinese and Asian cuisine! So so delicious, fresh and high quality ingredients, amazing flavors, great portions.. My family, friends, and I have tried many of their menu items by now and every one of them has been so delicious!6/2021 Absolutely delicious!! We ordered several types of dumplings, soups, lomein, garlic bok choy and everything was so good! The quality and flavors were delicious and big portion sizes. This my new favorite! So happy to have found MR Dumpling in Apex!

Edited to add, based on Mr. D's response: We had THREE people, not five, plus, if you're going to add a predetermined tip, you have to do it on the bill--you're not allowed to just add it later. And we didn't get the drinks we put in with our order, nor the cilantro. The food is very pricey -- $42 for 2 lunch items and a kid's meal -- if you have trouble getting help, pay more. And you're telling me that you were entirely out of dumplings at noon on Saturday? Ok. Like I said, never again.I used to love Mr Dumpling, until they stole from me. Saturday, I went with my husband and kid We were sat at a table, no mention of menus or anything. Finally see a QR code for ordering. And dumplings aren’t on the menu! We order food and drinks. Food comes, no drinks. Flag the waiter for cilantro for the food, he never comes back. Finally we ask for boxes and the drinks we paid for to go (because we couldn’t take them off the bill since it was through the app) They did comp the drinks, but the service was still SO awful I tipped 12% (which I never do). I just got my credit card statement and they added on an 18% tip. I’m 90% sure that’s illegal. Never again.
