****** LONG REVIEW WARNING*****I have been a fan of Red Robin since I was a kid until tonight. I had three friends visiting the country for the first time, and I wanted them to have a real American-style burger experience at my favorite burger place. We were thrilled to have a nice big meal after a long car-buying process, but thanks to our server, Stephanie, she ruined the whole experience for me and my guests. I have to admit that we did not walk into the restaurant at the most desirable time for the staff. They were closing at 10 pm, and it was 8:40, but as I said, we were going through a car-buying process, and that takes time. Having worked at the front of the house for over five years, I do not think it was a terrible time to enjoy before they close.When Stephanie first greeted the table, my brother and I were in the restroom. Her initial contact was with my guests, who do not speak proper English. She must have assumed that we are bad tippers and rather than giving standard service, she should pre-judge us and be rude to all of us. She threw the straws to the table and did not reply when someone thanked her. It is unfortunate that she has racist feelings without realizing that she is racist (I guess this is the paradox of being racist; you just don't know that you are racist). It took her more than 10 minutes to come back to the table to take orders when the entire restaurant was empty. We gave her the entire order at once; to remind you, there were five of us, and we all ordered sodas plus bottomless garlic and sweet potato fries.When she finished taking orders, I asked her if we could get some fries before the meals arrived as we went through a long process today and I had not eaten food yet. She replied with an attitude and said that they are getting close to closing time(?) and the kitchen is closing, but she is going to see what she can do for me. I looked at my watch; it was 8:50. I asked her what time they are closing; she said 10. So I asked again if I could get some sweet potato and garlic fries. She replied with the same attitude and stated that she said she is going to look. I was really shocked with the level of attitude she had. I know myself and to be fair I can be confrontational and argumentative sometimes. And my brother is the quite opposite. I even asked him if I was rude or said anything aggressive? As calm as he is he agreed with me how bad her attitude was. She brought two small plates of fries for a table of five people who had not had food all day.Finally, our food came. She did not reply to me when I thanked her; she just dropped the food, said, "you guys enjoy," and stormed back to the kitchen. Did not ask if we needed anything else, although it was so obvious that we needed refills. She purposely ignored us. After about 10 minutes, I had to walk to the staff and ask for refills. Stephanie came with the drinks and same bad attitude. At that point I could not hold it anymore and asked her if she has a problem with us? She said, "what are you talking about?" I told Stephanie that she had a very nasty attitude since the minute one. At that point she just turned back and stormed into back yelling at manager to come talk to us. He did came, listened us, gave us the check and left. Manager Michael was kind and friendly to be honest.Long story short, Stephanie had the nastiest attitude someone can have for a customer service position, pre-judging people because of their skin color and linguistic challenges. Both my brother and I grew up in the U.S. and worked in the front house for over five years, so we were not what's called "bad tippers," and even if we were, this still wouldn't give someone the right to treat people based on their appearance. After tonight's experience, I'd rather drive ten more minutes and eat at the Walnut Street location. Five stars for the apex location! Such great service and great food. Everything was cooked perfectly and well done. The staff was friendly and prompt. Even with a full house it only took about ten minutes to get seated. The Cary location could learn a thing or two from this one.

We were one of the dweebs that came in with half an hour to close and Nygee (so sorry if we misspell your name!) was SO sweet, so attentive, and really helped us feel less guilty ?Don’t be like us and come at the last minute, but definitely ask to sit at her table ❤️

All was great until the food came to the table. There was a hair on my husband’s sweet potato fries. When he spoke to the manager, she immediately stated that “none of her cooks are blond and that it must be a fiber from the sweet potato”…. Meal was discounted. All I ordered was a lettuce wrap with avocado lettuce tomato and onion (no Pattie at all) with broccoli on the side (which I didn’t get, they brought fries instead), and our total was still $30…. Do not recommend.
