The food and service were excellent. We had a 6:30 reservation and the server was kind enough to tell they were running out of Oyster and a main course dish which I thought was strange since the restaurant was just starting to get busy. We had four people, and all had appetizers and a main course. Three of us ordered their Lamb Chops that were severed almost the way we order them in terms of temperature. Three of us switches a vegetable that went with the Lamb main course. There was a $3.50 substitution charge for each. I ordered the Raw Oysters, which was $18, there were very fresh but only came with a small paper thimble of ketchup not a homemade sauce or fresh horseradish, and no oyster crackers. I asked for horseradish and some crackers, and they charged us $1.50 for extra crackers. Our bill before server tip was $300. You would think they would not nickel and dime us for changing a vegetable or crackers. Not a good policy. By the way this is a very small restaurant that is very noisy.

Don't expect to hear a word your server says about the nightly specials. And if you expect to hear the newest from your friends? You won't. This is the noisiest, loudest, most ear splitting place you could possibly not enjoy. For the rest of your life. Like ever. The food was OK. But for the price I would have liked a small basket of bread, some butter and salt and pepper. Maybe the server would have brought condiments on request, but how to make oneself known among the din? Don't know. Don't care. If this type of thing is a normal dining experience for you, then go for it. I am opting out. Forever.
This is my favorite downtown Apex restaurant.

Great spot in Apex. Amazing food and the bartenders are fantastic. It gets packed quick so make sure that you get your reservation. Try the tacos they never leave the menu for a reason!

Other than it being a little too loud (lower dining area is small) we had a great experience. Our server Roha was attentive and pleasant. The restaurant and bathroom was clean.
We were a group of 4 and ordered a Calamari appetizer that came on top of Guacamole and had spicy cucumbers ...very good, the cheese tray... just ok. The Cheshire pork chops were soft, juicy and delicious, and the Scottish blackened salmon was great moist , flavorful , buttery. All in all a very enjoyable evening.

Hanger steak was excellent, as was the artichoke dip. NY sour was really good too. Farm to table concept. A lot of the specialty fish was sold out on a Saturday night so come early if you want new stuff on the menu. Very good meal.

Food, service and bar are great. The menu is limited, so typically we check the menu for something we like, but a few times the one item we wanted wasn't there, so make sure there are at least 2 things on the menu you like.

we had a reservation for 745 and we were not seated until 820. There was another couple there who is also seated 30 to 40 minutes after their reservation. No apology was offered for the late seating. And then they were out of more than half of their main entrées. so I decided to have a salad, but wanted to have some simple grilled chicken on top and the only way to get chicken on the salad was to order the main $32 chicken entrée in addition to the salad… not a good experience

we had a 745 reservation and weren’t seated until 820. Another couple also had the same issue and was seated 30 to 40 minutes late. We weren’t offered an apology. Then most of their entrées and several appetizers, were sold out so I ordered a salad. when I asked for chicken on top they said the only way I could get chicken was to order the $32 chicken entrée.
A good menu and good food in downtown Apex.
We had such a wonderful dinner tonight. The deceptively simple chicken cutlet was the surprise sensation along with the romaine and apple salad. They were very busy and stretched a little thin for service in the upstairs dining room with more than one server working with us but they worked as a team making every effort to be attentive. Overall, it was a great experience tonight and we look forward to returning again soon.

They don't like you spending too much money. I liked to order tons of appetizers out there. Last time, we occupied a table outside for a while, constantly ordering drinks and food and had a good time. Just after we asked the check, an idiot from the staff came to our table and told us we could not use a table over 2 hours. Imagine the waitress reaction? Just before we paid. We used to go there a lot, it was our absolute favorite, we use to tell everyone to go there.... never went back and told everyone NOT to go there anymore. Food is not what it was 10 years ago when we started going there, when it was organic and localy sourced. Chef used to be awesome. It's ruined now... adios.
