we ordered thru door dash the food was horrible most of it went in the trash what a rip off
Food was great. We got there late and a couple dishes weren't available. Figured it was because of the late hour. Service was excellent! Food was great.
Music so loud you can't hear the others talking at your table. Servers are tough to get their attention or to come back and check if food is okay. Food is as expected but nothing special.
Don't know why they stopped making fluffy biscuits. Flat ones are just sad and if you get toast... we'll they don't toast it, they grill it. The toast comes off tasting like whatever preceded it on the grill. Yuk.
Normally my egg whites are good, but seemed wet. Sure it was from the grilled chicken strips juice that wasn't drained before putting them on my plate. Gosh I hate to complain, but even my grits were runny.
Sure hope this location was a one off because I normally love their food.
Friendly welcome. Nice store. There are lots of cute items for sale. Sweet hostess seated us. Allade (?) was our waitress. She bites. Lol. For example, I ordered the build your own. It comes with a choice of meat & 1 side. When my food came, I didn't have the biscuits. She told me I didn't ask for biscuits. Didn't think I had to since it was a standard part of the Build Your Own. Overall, the food was good. Biscuits are always the best part.
It's not what is once was. Hash brown casserole just wet, cheesy hash browns. Sausage patties like overcooked, dried out hockey pucks. Chicken fried chicken dry and bland, but gravy helps. Eggs are eggs. Biscuits are good, but nothing exceptional. Service is nice, but spotty. Wait for refills. Items came out late. It had become such a disappointment considering how good it used to be.
Had breakfast there this morning, terrible !!! Don’t waste your time or money !!! 😡
This was some of the worst service I've ever gotten. Our server, Chelsea W, took our drink order a few minutes after we sat down but didn't come back for 25 mins with them and to take our order. Then it took another 20 minutes to get our food. I'd asked for cornbread but she brought only biscuits so I asked for cornbread and pepper vinegar for a second time which she never brought back. We watched her check on the 3 tables around us 2 and 3 times but never came back to check on us. It's like we had the plague or something. I wasn't able to eat all of my meal because I never got the condiments I'd asked for twice. The food was good as usual for Cracker Barrel but will not be returning because of the service. I did speak with the manager before we left about it and he was very apologetic and said he would address the situation.

We were so fortunate to stop at the Cracker Barrel in Arden, North Carolina, on December 6, 2024. They had a warming fire going in the fireplace, very cozy contrasting nicely with the biting cold outside. My fiancée ordered the Chicken with Dumplings, Steamed Broccoli and Hashbrown Casserole. Since it was Fish Fry Friday, that's what I ordered along with Sweet Whole Baby Carrots and Hashbrown Casserole. Everything was done to perfection.
Our server was gracious, kind, thoughtful with a nice sense of humor. We hope to get back up to the Arden Cracker Barrel very soon.
Parking: This Cracker Barrel is nicely situated off of the main road in its own quaint location. All Cracker Barrel restaurants have an aura all of their own which sets them apart from other eateries.

The food is nothing like it used to be. The trout tasted earthy, the grilled chicken was tough and tasteless, the green beans tasted like meat and were so greasy they glistened. The grease ran into my lumpy, bland mashed potatoes and made them taste even worse. My son got mashed potatoes and gravy with shrimp and they poured gravy over his shrimp and hush puppies, too. The biscuits were underbaked. And it cost our family $67. I used to love this restaurant and I still enjoy the atmosphere, but as far as eating there again; probably not any time soon.
